Hand off or our Social Security retirement dollars
Over a period of years 10s of millions of us, Americans have been overpaying our Social Security taxes, as much as $180 billion in one year alone. Unfortunately, those overpayments ended up in the hands of 535 members of congress. They were not only spent on something other than intended, but replaced with a new government debt instrument that has to be paid again, PLUS INTEREST. Totaling $2.752 TRILLION at the end of 2021, and as if to rub salt in our wounds, they list the $2.752 TRILLION as an asset on the Social Security trust fund balance sheet.
This petition is to demand the $2.752 TRILLION be brought back to the 435 congressional districts, whose workers made the overpayments and therefore own the overpayments. Each congressional district would receive approximately $6.44 BILLION.
Us Americans have lost faith in the integrity of 535 members of Congress. Therefore are demanding action, that takes our Social Security retirement dollars out of their hands, and brings them back to America's main streets where we can all keep an eye on them.
