Freeze pay to all lawmakers during a budget shutdown
While Congress plays chicken with our credibility and the freezing of payments to millions of people in the United States, Congress is still paid their salaries without disruption.
This power play with our budget is not conducive with running of our country while Congress does not have to play by the same rules as every day citizens
This petition is to freeze all members of Congress and the president salaries and benefits starting 24 hours prior to the termination deadline of the US budget. No exceptions.
If the House of Representatives and the Senate have not submitted an agreed budget bill and not signed by the president of the United States 24 hours before the termination of the previous budget, all Congress members and the president will have all salaries and benefits frozen until a budget bill is agreed upon and signed.
