Freedom to Travel

Freedom to openly travel to other countries is a fundamental human right.

We urge that the House and Senate end all restrictions on travel by U.S. citizens and residents to Cuba and all other countries and that President Obama sign such legislation. Freedom of travel is a fundamental human right, protected by the Constitution, and an example of personal liberty that we need to share with the people of the world. People-to-people contact is the best antidote to decades of misunderstanding and distrust. Also, it is the basis for building peaceful and rewarding relationships with other nations.
