Federal Funding for Existing Energy Efficient Lighting Retrofit Rebates

Matching federal funds for existing state and utility energy efficient lighting retrofit rebate programs will create American jobs, improve our economy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

I am writing to encourage your support for the distribution of matching federal funds for existing state and utility energy efficient lighting retrofit rebate programs. This will create American jobs, improve our economy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions across the country.

Existing rebate programs are already in place across the country. These programs provide funding for businesses to replace their old inefficient lighting with new energy efficient fixtures. When these retrofits take place, the cost of doing business is reduced, utilities benefit from reduced demand, carbon dioxide emissions are cut and green jobs are created.

Because a strong public/private partnership already exists between state governments, utilities and energy efficient lighting contractors - this is an ideal avenue for federal funding to stimulate the economy. The funds would flow through an proven system and produce direct and measurable results.

I'm asking you to channel federal funding to energy efficient relighting projects. Our country's economy, environment and citizens will thank you.
