Unfortunately in my dealings with the staff at the US Embassy in Kathmandu many times over the past 20 years, I've found the common sense and reasonable interpretation of visa requirements that used to be evident has been in short supply for the past 5 or 6 years. Because visa scams and corruption are ever present in Nepal, they find it easier to blindly interpret laws and rulings in the narrowest and most restrictive way possible, rather than exercising their discretionary authority and common sense to do the right thing. Please, Members of Congress, step forward and help common sense and justice prevail.REPORT COMMENTS
