The State Department's decision to just not process these families is not acceptable. The Nepali government and the prospective parents should have been informed BEFORE the adoptions were completed that visas would not be available for these children, and having failed that, need now to be dealt with in a timely manner. Continued failure to do so jeopardizes the US's relationship with Nepal and may make other sending nations less willing to work with the US, leaving thousands of children with less hope for a family and a future.

Regardless of the political circumstances, there is absolutely no reason to not help people who have followed all adoption laws to bring their children home!As the grandparent of an adopted child I know first hand the heartache that these types of political situations cause the parents and the child. Please bring this matter to a swift resolution so these people can continue with what is already and arduous process of becoming a family!
