We are the prospective grandparents of Karina and are extremely concerned that the US Embassy in Nepal has interposed itself into a process that was already in effect, greatly impeding the adopotions by 80 US families. This authorization which has been approved by the Nepal authorities in Kathmandu expires in late November. Time is of the essence.

Please don't create unnecessary obstacles for warm and loving families who are trying to bring home adopted babies to the USA. These children will benefit greatly. Please make it happen for them w/o so much red tape!!

I have seen this heartbreak before. We brought our twin girls home 4/08 from Kyrgyzstan. Shortly thereafter international adoptions ceased. More than sixty children are still there waiting, many of the children with special needs, while their families still await in anguish their homecoming. Upon accepting a referral, these children are ours within our hearts and minds. They are loved and a part of our lives and our family before ever laying eyes on them. Give these families their children, give these wanting and deserving children their parents, their home.

In the case of Sharon & Joe Vause their family has been divided because they have a Daughter in the US that is in school so they need to have one parent in the US and the other parent is in Napal with their Son. This family has been vetted and their Daughter was adopted from China. I understand the need to protect children but when a family has been vetted and they have a good track record with adopting children why not let the families be together which is in the best interest of everyone. The cost of having adoptive parents put in this position makes adopting a child from another country out of reach for may loving parents.
