A desperate cry of US families in Kathmandu What is the financial and emotional hardship we are experiencing? - Not being able to go to the supermarket located around the corner safely and without fear. Four wild dogs without owners are loose on our street and threaten to bite us, as is seen in many other streets of Kathmandu. (We live in what is considered good areas). - Not being able to cross the streets safely to go to the pharmacy or the embassy, since there are not lights, traffic signs, traffic stops or lanes anywhere in Katmandu ? the other day a car almost hits our baby stroller (with our child inside). - Drinking tea with ants happen everyday - There no infrastructure, potable water, most streets are unpaved and washing hands is a foreign custom which put everyone at risks of diseases; most restaurants are a no, no. - Washing of face and teeth need to be done in a small bowl with bottled water to prevent diseases, ok for 2-weeks but not longer. - Power outages (electricity load sharing) occur almost every day. - High-tension cables are hanging loose in the street at our face level. One has to be careful not to get electrocuted as you walk, as the same time one must be mindful of the spits or pupu. - The streets are dirty, filthy. - The cold weather started and when it rains there is not a safe place for children to go and play. They need to be kept inside all the times. - We went to the hospital because our child had an emergency. Accidentally a strong irritant substance went into her eyes. The doctor did NOT follow emergency procedures. Instead of flashing the child?s eyes immediately with copious amount of water, which is necessary, he waited 20 minutes to do anything and this caused burns in the child skin around her eye area. - Many adoptions are finals, the American parents are the only legitimate parents of children and any previous parental-child relations have been canceled and void. We will not give us on our children under any circumstances. IT IS TOO LATE FOR ANY INVESTIGATION. - You would not have any power to approve or reject visas unless God had granted you this power. You will have to respond to Him and you are the responsible for all this hardship all 80 families are already experiencing: including their job losses, difficult financial situation and risky situations we face here everyday. We are physically trapped in Nepal, not being able to leave the borders. This is like being in a ghetto, segregated from home and family. We can go home but our children not which implies we are not allowed to go home either. Please do the right thing and let us go home. Please let your people go!!
