Due Diligence on Center for Medical Progress Reports / Stop De-funding of Planned Parenthood
Demand that Congress holds due diligence on Center for Medical Progress reporting, and fully considers the repercussions of de-funding Planned Parenthood.
To the chairmen of the Judiciary and Oversight committees responsible for investigating Planned Parenthood, all other Congressmen and Congresswomen, and President Obama:
Those two words - Planned Parenthood - are already bouncing around in your ears due to recent events. But here are four words which should be equally - if not more - prominent: Center for Medical Progress.
The reason you recognize Planned Parenthood is partially due to this group setting up legitimate, legally-sanctioned business meetings with Planned Parenthood, covertly recording the encounters, then maliciously editing the videos to simulate illegal activities, then presenting the edited videos as FACT to anti-abortion supporters and organizations worldwide.
Hope, in the end, lies within the expectation that those responsible for the deceptive 'reporting' perpetrated by Center for Medical Progress are held accountable for their actions and the subsequent fallout, to include protests, riot, arson, and personal attacks on those seeking service or working at Planned Parenthood.
Meanwhile, during this ongoing Congressional investigation, we, those who have signed this petition, DEMAND that Congress holds due diligence, and fully investigates those responsible for the current investigation into and upcoming vote to de-fund Planned Parenthood: Center for Medical Progress, founded by David Daleiden of Live Action, an anti-abortion non-profit organization.
Most importantly, please consider the repercussions of de-funding Planned Parenthood as it applies to both men and women who seek their services. Educate yourselves on the services Planned Parenthood offers (a majority of which have nothing to do with abortion), before removing funding for this critical medical care outlet. Below is a list of services provided by Planned Parenthood affiliate health centers, as taken from the link above it. I encourage each and every individual who reads this to research these numbers, and and understand that de-funding of Planned Parenthood is, simply put, a bad idea.
