Drug Addiction is a disease like cancer, and would you terminate parental rights for cancer!!!!!
Addiction is a disease and people are treated unfair. Parents are discriminated against and parental rights are taken over a terminal disease.
Im a recovering drug addict who has had my children taken by cps. My parental rights are up for termination for being a drug addict. If a parent had cancer or something like heart disease it would be completely different. Addiction is a disease like heart disease and cancer and should be treated as so. Please stand with me and take a stand for parents who struggle with addiction. Just because were addicts doesnt mean we dont love our children or would neglect them on purpose. That is so far from the truth but cps wants to treat us like some poor trash that cant possibly raise a child. I think it should be against the law for the state to terminate rights of a parent for addiction if the parent puts forth effort for reunification. My children have extremely suffered mentally and physically wanting to be back with me.
