Don’t allow HOA’s to evict Illinois homeowners and then rent out their properties
Dear congressional leaders,
In Illinois HOA’s have the power to evict a homeowner from their home and then rent the property to anyone they see fit in order to obtain their money. This should be illegal! They should only be allowed to put a lien on the property and nothing more. Illinois is one of only a few states that still allow this abuse of power to HOA’s. I personally know of someone that got evicted because she couldn’t make her payment due to the fact that she was injured by a drunk driver and couldn’t work. She did sue the driver but had to wait for the court to hear her case and because of the lengthy process she was evicted by her HOA. Please support my position on this issue and change this law.
