Disabled Parents have Rights, too!

The American Disabilities Act does NOT have any specific clauses pertaining to child custody. There are definitely not any laws that say a disabled person should not have custody. However, numerous judges and DHS workers have said that a disabled person who has to get treatment for their disability, is considered abandoning their children while in a treatment facility to help them overcome or get treatment for their disability. A disabled person should not be considered having abandoned or abusive to their child just because they go to a hospital and have a relative care for their children while in the hospital. A disabled person is fully capable of taking care of their family, when applicable, any disabled person who can care for themselves should be allowed to care for their children. There is too much negative unresearched speculations against disabled people being able to care for their children. Movies have depicted these negative images, that are not true, into minds of not disabled people, to discriminate against disabled persons. There needs to be specific detailed rules for disabled parents whose children need them in their lives.
