Deny Senators who refuse to do their jobs their salary

#DoYourJob Americans are expect to work for salary. Every American

American families are struggling. Husbands and wives work to support their those they love. They go to work and do their jobs, and then they are paid for doing those jobs. If they don't, their wages are with held, as if they are engaged in a strike. We should hold our elected officials to the same standard.

Senators take an oath to "support... the Constitution" which requires them to give "advice and consent" to Supreme Court Justices. To be clear, the Constitution of Our United States says the President "shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint ... Judges of the supreme Court..." The Constitution does not say 'will appoint'.. it does not say 'may appoint'... it says "shall" -- a verb emphasizing the necessity to take an action. This is the oath, the obligation, the senators swore to God to uphold. Denying a hearing, a fair chance to be heard and vote on, to a nominee and "consent" (or not) to the duly elected President's choice to fill a Supreme Court vacancy demonstrates that these Senators refuse to do their job. If they should fail to do their jobs, like any other American, then they should forfeit their salaries.

Therefore, we petition Congress to pass a law that any elected official who fails to uphold their oath, as determined by an independent judiciary, shall forfeit their salary for their term in office.
