Price gouging and TV Industry Moral Reform

POSITION

God respecting Americans say "NO MORE"!

NO MORE price gouging by the oil companies and large corporations!

NO MORE social and moral decay brought on by the TV entertainment industry!

NO MORE corrupt elected politicians that don't have the people's best interest at heart!

The true "State of The Union" is accurately described by the words found in 2 Peter 2:19, and is an alert that we have an urgent national priority that is in need of legislation.

2 Peter 2:19 "While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought into bondage."

While running for office, our politicians make promises they don't keep. They promise freedom from higher taxes, more social programs, a balanced budget, a better America and more. However, after they are elected into office, instead of serving the needs of the people, they become the servants of large corporations and oil companies that "price gouge" the American people and bring them into economic slavery. Our government lets this continue because of the billions of dollars in extra taxes being made off of every gallon of gas sold and every other over-priced item Americans need and have to pay for. Our government which is supposed to be "for the people" is in fact, "against the people". Many family arguments and even divorces are a direct result of the financial stress of not being able to survive. With both parents working, they can hardly manage to pay for gasoline to get back and forth to work or to pay for child care and buy food to feed their families. Every quarter, the oil companies and large corporations are making criminal profits in the billions of dollars off the backs of the American people and this is SINFUL!

These same oil companies and major corporations are the sponsors of many of the immoral and violent television programs that are causing the moral decay of our society. The content of many TV programs that now come on during prime time, is directly against the word of God, and Christian & Jewish moral values. Studies have confirmed the negative effects that bad television programming has had on the minds of our children. 54% of 4-6 year-olds who, when asked to choose between watching TV and spending time with their fathers, said they would prefer to watch television. It has been shown that children who watch TV more than 10 hours a week suffer negative academic effects and the average American child ages 2-11 watches television 20 hours a week. By age 18, the average American child sees 200,000 violent acts on TV and witnesses almost 20,000 murders, mostly by handguns. 73% of the time the people in TV dramas who commit violent acts go unpunished. 47% percent of violent situations show no real harm to the victims, and 58 percent show no real pain. Only 4 percent of violent programs show nonviolent alternatives to solve problems. 80% of Hollywood executives think there is a link between TV violence and real-life violence. "Television programming", has also had a tremendous negative effect on the lives of teenagers and on relationships between married couples, due to the overwhelming amount of immorality seen on TV shows that promote fornication (sex before marriage) and adulterous extra marital relationships. We must take a stand and protect our children and families from such evil and sinful programming and make the entertainment industry responsible and accountable. Through America's Ballot Box, God respecting Americans can now unite by taking a stand and saying, NO MORE!

PROPOSAL

We propose to make large corporations, oil companies and the entertainment industry, responsible and accountable by urging our "elected officials" to draft and submit legislation that would prohibit price gouging on food, gasoline, utilities and other necessary and essential items. We also demand the enforcement of FCC laws regarding obscene, indecent and immoral television programing especially during prime time hours, thereby making the TV entertainment industry accountable and responsible for the moral welfare of our children, our families and our country.
