Cut out all the paid holidays to State and Government Workers
If the 5 original holidays were set back in place as paid holidays think of the money State and Government agencies could bank
Stop paying for Holidays other than Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July . If your workers aren't happy with that then so be it. There are plenty of people needing jobs to replace them.Allow them one weeks vacation no sick days accumulated so they can take them whether they are sick or not.
If the holiday falls on a weekday then fine pay them for that day off not the day before and the day after. If it falls on a weekend and they wouldn't normally work then why should they be paid for that day?
This may not be a total solution but I am sure if you add it up for each state you will see a surprising amount of money at the end of each year that can be saved. People should be glad they have a job so many of us dont.
Go back to making people pay for their foodstamps instead of just giving them to them.That is the way it was done years ago. They could do some of the work for the state and government to help pay for them such as cleaning government buildings so many hours a week, filing , computer work. Quit handing out aide for free. I think the term Land of the Free meaning has been changed from its original order.
