Criminal use of impeachment for the purpose of harassment and political gain
All members of congress who voted to impeach trump the week of january 11, 2021 should be charged with:
a.) dereliction of duty to uphold and defend the tenets of the Constitution. This impeachment has no legal grounds. It is a personal vendetta against the president. This directly violates the oath of office.
b.) treason on the grounds of intentional use of the impeachment process as a weapon against the duly elected president for political gain. This impeachment is solely for the purpose of marring the historical entry of a political opponent they have actively utilized political processes to reverse his election to office.
This impeachment of the president is purely for political gain and has no standing on legal grounds. All members of Congress who votes for this impeachment have shown a lack of a capacity to apply logic and reason. This is a criminal act on Congresses part. The actions by Congress have created a situation that can and possibly will lead to a fracture between the citizens of these United States. Congress needs to do the right thing and end their personal vendetta against the president for their political gain.
