CPS Statute of limitations
CPS should have a statute of limitations on the info used against you to support their case
This petition is being started to try and limit what cps may use against you in a case or court of law. I recently testified on my dad's behalf for the custody of his 2 younger children and was appalled by the info they tried to use to destroy my credibility. I once had a case against me 12yrs ago which was just a false report from my ex husband. However it still shows up in my history. It also had on record that i once went to treatment for drug use even though I've been clean and sober for over 7 years. My job requires hair follicle testing for employment as well as random drug testing, all of which I've never failed. I don't think it's fair that I was judged from my past when I'm clearly not that person anymore. I could see if i had repetitive reports on me, but i only had that one investigation which was inconclusive. I've never been in trouble with the law, i can pass a hair follicle with no problem, I'm a girl scout trip leader, a member of the schools PTO, i volunteer regularly, and I'm a member of a church. So why is my dark past thrown in my face but yet none of the good even matters? This has to stop. There needs to be a statute of limitations on the info used against you if you can prove that you are a changed person. Again this petition is not for habitual law breakers or people who receive regular reports to CPS. this petition is for those of us that fell victim to circumstance.
