Congressional Reform Bill
To effect term limits for all House of Representatives and Senators.
It is time for America to show it's greatness. After the recent national debt debacle, Congress has proven to be a bunch of spoiled children fighting over party politics instead of running our nation. It is time to prevent legislative deadlocks like this from happening again. Which of you will step up and say this isn't working? The idea behind this bill initiative is to limit Senators and House members to 2 consecutive terms in office. After two terms, the Senator or House member must step down. They may run again, but only after another has served in his position. This forces the turnover necessary to limit special interest groups buying politicians.
You all know that most of the current Representatives and Senators are bought and paid for but industry lobbyists. I would love to also add to the initiative the removal of special healthcare programs for Congressmen and Senators which will force our government officials to really understand what is happening to the middle class, but that will never happen.
I urge you all, take the initiative and set self imposed limits to your own power. It is this sacrifice that will jump start our country back into greatness. It is your responsibility to take control of the situation and fix it. I understand this is a tall order, and asking a politician to abdicate power is like squeezing blood from a stone, but it is high time that all politicians in office make the necessary sacrifices for the good of our country.
