Congressional Petition to End Horse slaughter
I, the undersigned American citizen and voter, am outraged that Congress has passed a bill, signed by the President, which allocates taxpayers' money for the inspection of horse meat.
It is barbaric that already each year 100,000 American horses are packed off to slaughter houses in disgusting conditions.
It is an affront to basic human decency that Congress should bring this vile practice back to
America. And it is absurd to waste taxpayers' money on inspecting horse meat at a time of economic hardship for thousands of hard-working families.
Horse butchers continue to subject innocent horses to stunning brutality and show callous disregard for the will of the American people, who are disgusted by the murder of so many beautiful animals.
That's why I support banning horse slaughter in America and the export of American horses for slaughter.
