Congress Shall Be in Session until a consensus is reached!!
Our leaders, our congressman and women continuously battle each other to come to an agreement on many issues. The most current is passing of a new budget for our nation. This affects many government employees nationwide as well as contractors and private corporations.
Without the passing of a budget every year the United States economy and government can and will come to a halt!
This is not the only issue. Congress continues to battle each other on multiple issues between both democrats and republicans over continuous nonsense, that We the People! Do not agree with!
Those elected to congress are supposed to fight for the issues that We The People want and they are failing to do just that.
Instead they are fighting for their own interests and specifically financial interests to benefit their own pockets at the expense of the US Citizens and taxpayers!
This is expressed by this simple conclusion:
Why is congress continually funded and paid during a government shutdown when the rest of the government is not?
The answer: They are not affected by it so why do they need to rush to an end goal!
The solution: By this petition I urge that Congress 1) Not be allowed to earn their paychecks during a government shutdown and 2) Not be permitted to postpone a session of Congress to further delay a budget agreement. This would mean that Congress is to remain in session permanently until an agreement is decided by by the House and Senate and by all parties before the individuals are permitted to leave the session!
This in turn will prevent the continued cycle of delays that have incurred with passing a budget by law and will prevent the backdoor/back room deals that are conducted between parties when congress is not in session.
We The People call for more Transparency in our elected officials! We The People call for accountability in our elected Officials! We The People call for the Truth!
