Committed the Crime and Served the Time Act

Committed the Crime and Served the Time Act (to end felon Ex-Offender Discrimination by automatically expunging ALL felonies after completion of the sentence and a ten year period of crime free, law abiding behavior.)

We are 25 Million Felons United to ask the Congress, the Senate and the President of the United States to promote and protect the civil and human rights of all ex-felons in the United States. In order restore these rights, we need each of the branches of Government to work toward the goal of protecting the rights of ex-offenders who have changed their lives into being law abiding citizens and heads of families. These branches must insure that America is as good in practice as its ideals claims to be in theory. We will assist the House and the Senate in any way, working to avert discrimination, inequality and injustice. The legislation passed will change the current way the United States handles the civil rights of of ex-felons after their debt to society has been paid. There are approximately 25, million ex-felons in the U.S. and every year approximately 1,000,000 new people are convicted of a felony. Ex-felons have power that they do not realize that they have. Ex-felons can decide the outcome of many local, state and national elections. Just like gays, women and African Americans united and wielded their power at the voting booth; ex-felons in the not too distant future will resolve to use their power also. When any group unite and go to the voting booth, politicians immediately recognize them and the power that they wield. Most ex-felons say that their greatest desire upon release is to be given a fair chance to succeed in America. When businesses close their doors to ex-felons and private and public entities refuse to allow ex-felons a chance to work, what other recourse do they have other than selling dope, robbing folks, carjacking, burglary etc.? If we are going to hold ex-felons accountable for pulling themselves up by their own boot straps, we have to provide them with some boots and some straps. Ex-felons love their families, lives, children etc. and many of them want to live the American Dream but America in many cases have written them off as nobodies and relegated them to the back waters of society. The American Dream for many ex-felons has become the American Nightmare! Please, let's enact the Committed the Crime and Served the Time act so that all ex-offenders will be granted an automatic expungement of the felony criminal record after serving out their sentence and after a 10 year period of law abiding, crime free behavior. This Committed the Crime and Served the Time Act will ensure that felon ex-offenders, after completing the requirements of this act will attain the basic rights necessary to remain crime free, contribute to society and support their families.
