Child Support Should NOT Zero out when a parent goes to jail/ prison

A Child's needs do not stop while a parent is incarcerated - Creditors continue to add late fees but a parent who choses to commit felony gets rewarded by having no child support accrue while incarcerated.

A change in child support needs to happen. My son's father owes $16,000. and has not paid in years. I was notified by child support enforcement in Arizona his father's amount he is accountable for while incarcerated changes to $0 (His Father was just sentenced). Why are we rewarding those who commit crimes? Why do creditors continue to charge late fees and interest while a person is incarcerated but support amount changes to 0 (interest accrues small percentage)? Does a child's needs get incarcerated with the felon? Life continues to evolve while a parent in locked up why does the child support stop... this makes no sense to me the parent who continues to support and raise my son alone... without child support. Why are "we" making it easier on the criminals? Why do "we" make it harder on the parent raising the child? I know I am not the only frustrated custodial parent in America with child support laws and lack of enforcement. Either Child Support amounts should continue to accrue like creditors can while incarcerated or it is fair across the board - to either continue rewarding the felons with all payments money owed to any entity stops or to make it fair for the child and continue to have child support accrue while incarcerated. If a father/mother is incarcerated the court should allow the parent to be charged while in prison/jail for non-compliance with child support court order as well. I am a frustrated American who works hard to provide for my son while his father continues to be a drain on the American people committing crimes, doing drugs and is being rewarded for his lack of parenting with a "free ticket" out of accountability while incarcerated.
