Change the laws regarding who is placed on the sex offender registry
It is time for a change, it is cruel to place young, nonviolent offenders on a list that will ruin their lives.
I feel this nation in an attempt to protect children has allowed the stipulations of who is placed on a sex offender registry to spin out of control. This registry is not only about protecting children anymore but about unnecessarily ruining lives, we are told to trust the system yet our system has become more about politics not justice. The current laws place people that urinate in public on the same public list with those that rape and molest children, this is not right in fact it is cruel to ruin people's lives in the way this registry does for people that truly do not deserve to be on it. This law needs to be revised so the punishment fits the crime currently it is such a broad spectrum of who is placed on this list, please join me in making a change to such an unjust law.
