Hague was supposed to protect children not turn them into victims of bureacracy as is the case with all children who are spending more time in institutions and temporary care since the implementation of Hague. It's absurd how long it took for my brother and his wife to get their son from Viet Nam. We have loving families ready and willing to take on the responsibility of raising these orphans. As an adoptive parent of 4 precious children, I can testify personally to the importance of a loving family for a child. I can also state, emphatically, that the sooner this happens, the better for each waiting child. For every day that a child is in an orphanage environment, it is another day that their true needs can not be fully met, and lengthens their emotional recovery process all the more. Please do whatever is in your power to allow these young ones to join their forever families, and begin their healing process, and the rest of their lives. Don't allow them to wait for the love, nurturing and healing that can be theirs, if only the adults that have the power over them will represent them with care and passion to make a difference.REPORT COMMENTS
