Bipartisan Gun Control: Cornyn-Murphy

America needs action on gun control; this is a reasonable compromise.

Republican Senator John Cornyn proposed a bill where people on the watch list would have a 72 hours hold and in that time the government would need to show a judge why they should not have gun.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy proposed requiring background checks for all gun sales; closing the private sale loophole.

Each bill failed on nearly a straight party line votes.

*We are asking you to combine the two into a single bill -- one that has important elements that each party can support.*

By combining the two and passing it, Republicans get a win and the Democrats get a win. Most importantly, the country gets a win.
