Better treatment for our nation\'s veterans
Our nation's heroes face enough struggles, quality treatment from the VA should not be one of them.
I am seeking better care for our nation's service members. The VA process has become a joke, a service member should not have to jump through hoops to get the care they deserve. They deserve to be treated with respect and to be treated like human beings. Our nation has an influx of wounded warriors that face struggles on a daily basis, quality treatment from the VA should not be one of them.
The claims process is unreal, service members are treated like they are being done a favor by being seen at the VA. The truth is, these men and women have fought to preserve this countries glory and deserve to be treated with dignity. They deserve to be treated like more than just a number. They aren't asking for any handouts, they simply want to be treated fairly.
My husband is one of the thousands of wounded warriors struggling with disabilities sustained while in combat. Each day is a struggle and I refuse to sit around anymore and wait for someone else to speak up.
I would like to witness a change in the way appointments for the claims process are handled. It is not okay to tell the service member that they cant reschedule appointments yet the VA can reschedule at their own convenience and the service member is notified by mail. The service member can't say anything, the dates have to work or they start the claims process all over again.
Dehumanizing has become the norm, I understand the VA sees thousands of people, but they also forget that without our nation's veterans, they would be out of a job.
