Afroze's Law
In DV situations where a firearm is present, the likelihood of homicide is 500%. This number is increased substantially if the victim is an immigrant who does not have the right to bear arms. Afroze's Law prevents citizens who the 2nd amendment pertains to from using their firearms to hurt immigrants in particular the spouse and children who are unarmed and are by law not allowed possession of a firearm. The bill would state in essence the FOID or conceal and carry license would be "frozen" until the immigrant spouse also has equity to bear a firearm. This is to protect and prevent deaths of the most vulnerable group of people who have been abused and oppressed as immigrants and have no rights against firearm wielding spouses who threaten and coerce them to stay in domestic violence situations which sadly may end in homicide.
