"Alyssa's Law"
Dear Honorable Members,
Through a lifetime of helping families find missing loved ones, one certain issue has come to my attention. Many people have gone missing due to unknowingly having traveled down a boat ramp at marinas, not realizing that it isn't a road, only to find themselves having driven into the water. I would like to introduce a federal law (through your help) in mandating that Marinas who have boat ramps, must put a warning sign crossing the entrance to boat ramps at closing time, or dusk that reads
"STOP" Boat Ramp.
Many people lose their lives when they do not recognize that the road they are on, is a ramp into a lake, many times there are no lights, and evening travel (and Weather) prohibits them from realizing where they are.
A simple plastic chain with a sign reflective wording affixed in the center is a inexpensive warning alert.
The most recent case due to this has taken another life: Alyssa Walker-Donaldson, of McCurtain Co, OK. She drove her car into the Broken Bow Lake via a boat ramp.
I would like to dedicate and honor her life with a federal law

A mandatory law that "all boat ramps in the United States must have a chain with a reflective sign across vehicle paths that lead into a waterway"
"These signs must be displayed at dusk".
Would you please sponsor/support and designate our request to a committee.
