CDC and DEA Rsponsible for the suffering of Millions of Chronic Pain Patients

In America where there are medicines to treat everything, Chronic Pain Patients should not be the ones to suffer the opioid crisis. Hundreds of thousands of American Citizens are being demonized as addicts when the reverse is true. Chronic Pain Patients are trying to live a life with legitimate pain, only to be told that they can no longer get their medicines due to DEA misconstruing The CDC guidelines.

Chronic Pain Patients that have been in pain management for years are now suffering excruciating pain as their present doctor has been put out of business by the DEA due to the DEA misconstruing the CDC guidelines. The DEA is on a witch hunt to put all doctors that prescribe large amounts of opioid medicines, out of business. Hence the doctors that are left to pick up the slack are either picking up the pain patients very selectively which then makes them a target for the DEA as now they are writing more prescriptions, or the doctors will not prescribe the appropriate amount of opioid for fear of DEA retribution, or worse, Former Chronic Pain Doctors will not prescribe pain medicines at all.

Chronic pain patients are suffering indignities at every turn. If they manage to get a doctor to care for them, the pharmacist will not fill their prescription. They are told by doctors and or pharmacists that they are drug seekers. Their only crime is being under medicated, asking for appropriate narcotics that work for them over the years, or ending up in Emergency rooms begging for pain relief, or simply just trying to fill an opioid medicine if they are fortunate enough to receive a prescription.

in agonizing pain the Chronic Pain Patient finds it almost impossible to continue an endless search for other pharmacies and doctors to take away their pain as they can not even get out of bed to go to another doctor, jump through endless hoops of providing over abundant records , only to be turned down repeatedly after they had been successfully cared for in pain management for decades in some cases.

In 2021 as opposed to previous years, when the opioid prescriptions are filled they are for only 30 days which affects how a a Chronic Pain Patient can travel, dictating the life of the patient. The pain patient already feels imprisoned by their pain which is made worse by the new 30 day rule. The rule is keeping the patient from a life that previous to 2021 was 90 days before the Chronic Pain Patient had to return to the Doctor. Not only is their time being relegated, but their payments to the doctor and to insurance companies for a 1 month prescription are causing a significant drain on the Chronic Pain Patients finances.

Insurance companies have seen fit to take advantage and make the opioid prescriptions so expensive that many patients who do find a doctor, in turn can not now afford a previously affordable drug.

Yes, it is no wonder that the DEA reports success in the decrease in the number of opioid prescriptions written. They have created an atmosphere of fear amongst doctors that want to help but do not want to have their practices shut down due to the DEA overstep.

As American Citizens with legitimate pain, we are requesting that our former rights as a Group be restored. We do not have to be dying to be in pain. Even then, dying patients are also refused opioids to ease their way out of this life. The CDC has clearly stated that their guidelines were not meant for Chronic Pain Patients and have clarified this to no avail.

Chronic Pain Patients are committing suicide and suffering in silence. Their families, many of whom have had to go on government assistance to stay at home to care for a patient. Many patients, when appropriately medicated, previously took care of themselves.

Do we need to carry Chronic Pain Patient ID similar to those who partake of Cannabis for pain?

How many billions of dollars in new government assistance is adding up as families try to cope with taking care of a family member in Chronic Pain and in turn are added to government assistance in it's many forms?

The DEA needs to be reigned in from targeting any further doctors that treat pain so that more doctors can begin the task of absorbing the suffering patients left from practices that have been shut down, or doctors that can no longer prescribe opiates. Pain management doctors need reassurance that they will not be shut down for writing adequate opioid prescriptions for a deserving Chronic Pain Patient.

This is an American Emergency created by DEA misinterpretation or intentional infliction of harm by their careless actions.
