Add EpiPen and EpiPen Jr. to the Preventive Drug List

All prescription drugs on the preventive drug list will be paid by insurance companies as if you have already met your deductible.

We the people of the United States, who face life threatening allergic reactions, are unable to afford this life saving medication due to corporate greed. Some of us have high insurance premiums along with a high deductible. We struggle to make ends meet as it is, and to find out epipens for 2 or more members of your family are more than your mortgage/rent payment, is totally outrageous. This is a lifesaving medication. Whatever happened to making healthcare affordable?

There is roughly $1.00 of epinephrine in the auto injector. It is totally nefarious to charge such a ridiculous amount. This is forcing some people to buy epinephrine vials and syringes, which means you fill the syringe on your own. There's no room for error, as anyone who has suffered anaphylaxis knows, you may not have time to fill your own syringe, or fill to the correct dose. Some parents are going without to be able to purchase for their children. Some are just unable to buy for anyone in their household. The auto injector is ready to use with the proper dosage and it will penetrate thick clothing. This is the most accurate way to deliver this life saving medication.

If EpiPens are on the Preventive Drug List then federal rules will allow us to pay a zero co-pay or coinsurance even if we haven't met our deductible.
