Action to adjust inequality child support

In today's middle class America child support laws have been grossly neglected and reflect views of the last generation. With divorce rates at an all time high I would ask the congress to examin how children are truly being supported. All too often children are used as wepons in the system for financial gain for custodal parents. I ask that the true cost of raising a child be evaluated, split 50/50 as it should be and each parent be responcible for that amount. It is unfair to a non custodal parent who is at the poverty level after child support to not only pay the taxes on that support but then also not get to claim that money for a tax relief. I believe that the custodal parent should be required by federal law to claim child support as income and be taxed on that money.
