Stop DCF from violating our right to parent our children as WE (the people) see fit.
I am a mother living in Vermont. My family has been harassed for the last over 15 years by DCF. My family falls below the poverty line, and my son has medical needs, and just because of those two reasons, they have harassed my family. Our system that was put into place to protect our country’s children, has turned into a bidding war, with our innocent children, with the highest bidder, gaining custody of our kids. For what reasons? Money. The incentives that have been put into place by former president Clinton, is in desperate need for revamping. Why not try giving the same incentive, to return our children to us? Why not do away with the monetary incentive, and give us parents some hope that we might actually have a fair shake at getting our kids home. Instead we are forced to fight uphill battles, against an entire organization with limitless resources. This is not fair at all to the future of this country. Our children are supposed to be the future of our world, but what kind of world are we giving them? A world where it’s ok to kidnap innocent babies? A world where the only incentive given is to rip families apart? As a mother, as a human being, I am begging you to look at our Child Welfare System, and tell me with one hundred percent honesty, that you think our system is in good running order? Because I can assure you, that any human with a heart, would say no, it’s not in good working order, it needs some serious work to even be somewhat where it needs to be.
