A PETITION TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT - CHECKS AND BALANCES

We the People need to hear the founding documents read out loud by our elected officials

The United States of America seems to be at a cross roads, our federal supreme court is not only interpreting laws but making them, is this constitutional? We hear a lot about separation of church and state, is that in the Constitution? The issue of gun ownership is under assault, what does the Bill of Rights of the Constitution and our other founding documents have to say about these issues?

As a citizen of the United States of America, I/we believe "We the People of the United States" need to petition the United States Government to have these documents read out loud on prime time television. We need to have them read, by our elected Senators and U.S. Representatives and on all networks (just like the State of the Union speech) at the very least once per year!!! If these are read out loud by our elected officials it will serve to remind the elected officials, our fellow "common" citizens, our Supreme Court and anyone incapable of reading these documents for themselves of the greatness of our country and its evolution into the world power and hallmark of freedom that it is today. Reading the documents out loud will keep our branches of government from overstepping their boundaries and assure our citizens that the checks and balances of the government still prevail.

I, a citizen of the United States of America, endorse the above stated petition and whole heartedly appeal to the Government of the United States of America to submit to the popular opinion of "We the People", the voting public, the people your represent. We petition to have the Consitution of the United States of America, the Declaration of Independence, and for good measure the Gettysburg Address, read at least annually and in full, once per year (minimally) on all network television during prime time.
