28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

I am Proposing and amendment to the constitution that would grant the senate power to try and convict a former President, Vice President or office holder in a trial for impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors and other impeachable offenses committed while holding office. Due to the impeachment trial of former U.S. President Donald John Trump and subsequent acquittal of the charges brought against him; for the reasons that the trial was unconstitutional. As the Constitution does not give the Senate the explicit power to hold and convict a former President, Vice President or office holder in an impeachment trial, and the constitution prevents criminal liability for a former President, Vice President or office holder. "but the Party CONVICTED shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law." this creates a gap in accountability and would be wrong for it to remain as it is.
