This is ridiculous. Salary, benefits, pensions should be cut until every penny paid back to SSI and in the future only awarded with a federal vote. This is how it is managed in states. No individual on the planet can vote themselves raises in pay and benefits except our federally elected officials. In 2014 they voted to reduce pensions for multi holder unions....they should have voted the same cut for themselves. Decreases in benefits should come automatically until we have a balanced budget.REPORT COMMENTS

If Congress does not work they should be fired. The same goes for the Senate. It is disgusting the way they get raises every year and then Social Security benefits stay the same.REPORT COMMENTS

Budget cuts should include members of Congress and Senate and their staff. No free healthcare, they should pay like everyone else. Let those that want to cut entitlements experience firsthand those cuts.REPORT COMMENTS

no more freebies to our elected officials... they should have to "pay their own way" like the rest of us do! No more free lunches and all the "perks" they get.. If these cuts to SSDI go through I will probably loose my home! I am not getting a cost of living raise next year why should they!.... WAKE UP!REPORT COMMENTS

I have said for years that they should pay for their own retirement and medical. They make more than 90% of Americans. They voted in a process they automatically gives them a raise and they're the only ones that can remove it. They also are the most incompetent government in my life time!REPORT COMMENTS
