Immediate Diplomatic Pressure needed in order to prevent displacement and demolition of Palestinian homes in Jerusalem
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing you to express my deep concern over the recent developments in Jerusalem. As I am sure you are aware, the government of Israel plans to forcibly displace nearly 2,000 Palestinians in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Al-Bustan and Sheikh Jarrah from their homes. This illegal act is ethnic cleansing and against international law. In addition, the significant increase in the utilization of forceful tactics against the Palestinian residents of Jerusalem has escalated the situation tremendously.
I am writing to ask you to call upon the Department of State to exert diplomatic pressure to prevent these acts from taking place. Reps. Marie Newman and Mark Pocan have circulated a letter to Secretary of State Tony Blinken. I ask that you please consider supporting their earnest efforts to help the Palestinians living in those areas by signing the letter and stopping this humanitarian catastrophe.
