I write to encourage you to oppose government-run health care and any legislation which might broaden the federal government's control over my health care. Current health care legislation will result in lost health insurance and lost jobs for the American people and will push us deeper into recession. I hope that you fight against health care legislation that would drive up costs, diminish quality and limit access. I consider myself lower middle class. I am not poor nor am I well to do. If something were to happen unexpectedly in my life, I could become poor. I have worked hard for a job that gives me healthcare and I deserve it. To think that someone who has done nothing will receive an equal or better quality of healthcare makes me sick to my stomach. This will only increase the lack of will power that has overtaken many people who are in my current situation. Where is the incentive to do better? What is there to gain by striving to be better? I want these answers and I would like you to think these questions over. Look past the walls of your successes and put yourself back at your most trying times. What were the incentives that you strived for, allowing you to be where you are today? Now erase all of your blood and sweat, the long grueling hours, days, weeks, or years of hard work and arrive at your current situation. How would you feel, knowing that a man sitting in the office across the hall from your own has achieved your successes all the while at your expense? These are the thoughts that have been running through the people in my life?s minds. Many are overwhelmed with the situations concerning our government and have given up trying. Many are aware of the situations yet do not have to time to make a difference. And yet many sit and do nothing because that is what they have been trained to do. No will, no power.
