My ex fiance drained our bank accounts and disappeared with my 18 month old daughter two weeks before Christmas of 2009. A few months afterwards I found myself sitting in a court room listening to her tell the judge(magistrate) how I threw her out and made no attempt to see my daughter. When I spoke out, I was threatened with contempt of court. I miss my little girl so much, it's been 6 and a half years since I have saw her. The only way I can see anything, is to have a fake FB account and copy and paste pictures of her. I only have 6 but she is so beautiful and looks just like me. I have been through hell with this, I am always hearing "contempt of court" It is actually insane that Noone either cares or hears me when I say I have been suffering severe depression and have had two complete mental breakdowns since that time. I live in a small community there is nobody that is going to help me because I must be a "deadbeat" I am just now coming to terms with what a local "attorney" told me about how I will get to see my little girl again and he will set all of this right. Just a line of B.S. to get a $1500.00 retainer out of me. I am cautiously going to give it to the state instead. My situation is like so many others, I am sitting here suicidal, broke in a house with no heat while she lives in a 3/4 of a million dollar house in Mooresville NC. -

These unfair and child support laws border on unethical. The monies recieved oftentimes does not go toward supporting the children. The mothers take the money and spend it in hair salons, nail salons, and clubs. Meanwhile the children go without proper clothes, food, medicines if they are sick, and even beds to sleep in - speaking from a personal experience. Local and state courts don't care about changing the laws because there are so many queen bees/judges & worker bees/"family law" attorneys with their hands in the honey. But every single day men's lives - and subsequently their chidrens lives are destroyed. Men want to be their for their children, but they can't do that when they're having to work 2 to 3 (sometimes 4) jobs to keep themselves fed on top of paying outrages amounts in child support. The father then begins to view his own child as a vexing burden instead of a precious blessing because when he shows up for visitation the child has no clothes and shoes to go in. So then, whatever money the father might've been able to keep for himself aside from child support goes into the REAL support of the child. It's completely vicious and I haven't even spoken about the likelihood of arrests which only put the father in further dire straights. And all of this while their are absolutely no checks on what the mother does with her 'cut' of child support.REPORT COMMENTS

If the mother knows your name all they have to do is give the State your name so they can collect welfare. Child support is used by mothers because they know that if you have a good job its payday for them and not the child. I know if you looked into what the women buy with child support you will find it supports the mother and not the child. It also comes with extra fees for the State. Too many men are losing hope and are giving up on the American dream. The child support system is turning men into wage slaves being that if they fail to pay on time, if they'really laid off of their jobs, or if they take a pay cut they may be thrown in jail. If a man is thrown in jail then how does he pay for his child support when a felony or misdemeanor may be the deciding factor as to whether he gets a job or not? I think these laws need to be changed and women should be held equally accountable for destroying someone's career because many of them are constantly running down to the court house to report any instance of failure to pay while they are allowed to sit home and collect government assistance, section 8, child care assistance, student loans and many other things that are supposed to be used to encourage them to be more self sufficient. The child support system adversely affects men and needs a change. Most of the time the child support money is being used to purchase beauty supplies and clothing so they can attract another man inwhich they will ultimately end up pregnant and the cycle repeats itself.REPORT COMMENTS

My name is Nichole and I am writing this for me and my fiance. We currently pay 600.00 a month for two children from his previous marriage. At one point she had us for 1,000 a month for 3 children. The court never asked for documents, just went by her word and paperwork. He wasn't making the money she reported. Now she is re- married with a husband who makes a very decent living and still collects 600.00 a month for two children. Now, once again even after we went back to court and we're told we were clear of back child support and we're to pay what we pay now, we get a letter saying child support was supposed to go up in 2015 and didn't , so our child support will go up to 750.00 dollars a month FOR TWO CHILDREN!!?? NOT to mention me and my fiance have a son together and my daughter to care for. He works 7 days a week and brings home 475!!! We are barely making it and she's living it up, constantly on vacation . Child support laws are terribly inequitable. Neither parent should be placed in an economic disadvantage, but time and time again I see fathers struggling and they can't get ahead because any money earned is subject to evaluate by the courts. I think net income not gross should be the primary basis for support calculations, overtime should not be a consideration and neither should a second job! I take care of a disabled friend who has been disabled all his life. Child Support stole $36,000 from him and Social Security beings he was on disablity and told us he couldn't get it back. They did not follow ONE court order. Not one lawyer will go against them....to include the County Attorney and the General Attorney's Office is the one he couldn't get it back.REPORT COMMENTS

All I can say is child support laws here in San Diego California is really backwards...I show up to court 3 times to work something out....she's a non-show and still gets away with taking an unfair amount of my check...not only that but who knows what the money goes too...it certainly isn't the child....it dispenses on a card where they can only buy food and clothing ....not her new car note or a night out with her friends....and both parents should split whatever the court decides not just the fatherREPORT COMMENTS

She gets half of my check every week. She makes more money than i do in a year and i work 2 full time jobs. 90 hours plus a week just so i can afford to live and still live paycheck to paycheck. In the mean time she goes on trips with her boyfriend while our kids are with me and i can barely afford to take them to a movie. It has to change. She moved away so i couldnt have them more and the courts dont care they just ordered more support because they are with me less now. Not by my choice though.REPORT COMMENTS

The child support payment laws are ridiculous you go off of our gross income which we'll never see because uncle sam gets his cut first which is highway robbery but im not here for that criminal activity anyway i drive trucks for a living i work everyday but why is it that my daughter's mother does nothing but wait for her welfare shes been on since the beginning of time every 1st of the month and inbetween time shes standing on the corner hanging out cashing out that check she didnt work hard for she gets to sleep in and isnt obligated or responsible for going to work like iam and there are no programs set in place to make the women on welfare go to work or just for them to go to work period they get off scott free and that isnt fair there needs to be a serious balance she took part in making this baby just like i did why isnt the women held responsible just as i am financially again this isnt fair and it needs to change ASAP.REPORT COMMENTS

The law says fair and reasonable... however because the mother holds one night advantage ,one night! She gets the support and all the tax credits. I've offered to help her out with daycare costs but she refused, now I'm considering bankruptcy and selling off my business to support her greed, but it doesn't matter I'll still have to pay her outrageous and unfair amounts. Child Support Enforcement and rights to the non custodial parent must be reevaluated. A father loses his job. He owes arrears. A mother loses her job she gets assistance. A man pays upto 50% of his income to support and cannot claim his child as a dependent. The mother gets the child care tax credit and earned income deductions. The Father gets a better job or more income the mother files for increase. The mother gets a better job or more income but the father cant get a decrease. Final note: Both parents should be held accountable for financially taking care of their children. Welfare should not enforce non custodial fathers to reimburse the government due to the mother's failure to provide. Just because the father does not go through the courts does not mean he was not providing for his children. What gives the mother the right to slander his name and character; simply because the system now will allow her to use their children as a source of income?REPORT COMMENTS

I have 6 daughters 2 from previous I have full costody of older one but as of now me and my wife separated I was given 50 50 custody and she previously made more money than I was her lawyer told her to quit her job so now after I pay for the house that she lives in and my other daughter support I have 500!dollars left. I told my ex I can't afford to feed them .both my parents are gone. So Now I am a dead beat father that works 7 days a week to support her. So I have no money or time to spend with my daughters anymore. It's like they are being used as an asset. What I don't understand is how this financial abuse is legal and the court emotionally abuses the kids by parent allienation. My kids say dad u don't love me anymore. Very sick!!!!!! It is unfair. My soon to ex refuses to work. She expects me to pay an outrageous amount of child support. I have no problem paying child support within reason. She also won't allow me to see our son unless I pay. That's considered holding the child for ransom. The calculations for child support are unfair to military reservists because they take what we make in a year and a erase it out between the 12 months. Making look like we actually make more than what we make each month. The state says I'm getting paid roughly $600 a month for being a reservist when in reality I get paid $127- $450 and it varies each month. They should take our dates into consideration but. They don't so that means I get screwed over on paying my bills each month. The spouse should be required to keep a journal on what she uses the money for along with keeping receipts I say this because I watched her abuse the child support money she got from her daughter's biological father who has not been allowed to see his daughter for 17yrs. The equal rights movement that occurred decades ago is now considered a joke because there is no such thing as equal rights when it comes to being a parent the states always side with the mother unless she is deemed unfit. Even then it is sometimes hard for a father to still get custody of his child. Good father's are punished for bad father's actions but, good mother's are applauded for not being a bad mother.REPORT COMMENTS

It is also unfair that if our wages go up, so does child support. How can we support our families if so much is taken for the children. Some of the amounts that are taken are very unreasonable for a child. I support 4 kids at home and have yet to get a court date to get child support from the mother of 2 of them and my fiancé struggles because she has no help as well.
