I have always been a responsible, family oriented person. When my ex wife had an affair and got pregnant, she left me with an infant and tons of legal bills. She now owes more than $50,000 in arrears, but instead of enforcing the court order the state of Florida is providing her with food stamps, daycare, housing, transportation, cell phone, and internet. Why is it that fathers go to jail when they don't pay support, and mothers receive additional benefits from the state? I have been under the impression that in the United States of America, justice is blind. Apparently it's only blind for certain privileged groups. -

Ok folks. Let me let you in on the secret. Do some research. Basically like the road workers or anything else funded by the Fed. If these parties don't spend all their money or can do anymore work or what not they won't get the same amount. By taking away the license makes the father's fish in a barrel. And therefore creating, producing and manufacturing inmates. Note we have more prisons than any country in the world. LOL have you ever seen a governor out in public? Do you ever have anyone help you when going to the CS office or clerk of court. We are all considered the retirement fund for the well deserving politicians that you can only protest with an allowed petition to protest. I raised my Kids 13 years without the help of Mom. tried to fix custody to no relief today I'm failing at life as a direct result of the Child support system they failed my children... grown now and doing well they saw how hard it was for me. but today it is outta control CS wants over 100,000.00 in back child support. they say I only had the kids I still needed to pay Child support. for 13 years...? its criminal what they have done to my life. no job no taxes lost in society...REPORT COMMENTS

I'm a mother; and I understand very well how difficult it is to raise a child at times; but making life difficult for a father who TRULY is trying, but can't provide all the help needed , is not fair. I paid child support with out fail for 10 years. Then my son came to live with me. Because his mother could not take care of him any more do to life choices. I'm over 20,000 dollars in debt from Taxes, the fact that I support three kids all year and am unable to claim them at the end of the year causes me to owe taxes every year. I haven't been able to find stable employment since 2013 and now the IRS is coming after me. I am presently unemployed and seeking employment. It will cost me 300 dollars to get the child support agency to review my cases but I am broke because of the unemployment. SO my arrears are steadily backing up at the normal rate. The Mom receives my taxed money tax free to her and she gets to claim the kids at the end of the year. I fear that I will ether lose my home do prison time maybe even both all because of the tough economy and the one size fit all approach to child support. I am not a criminal , I am broke. I never thought that the system would use my children to put me in jail, but it is a reality I MAY SOON HAVE TO FACE.. The deck is stacked against me , when I am working I lose nearly 50% of my pay to child support and taxes then at the end of the year I usually owe 1 or 2 thousand more that I'm unable to pay which has interest and penalties. the cycle continues year after year. It just seems like Men are punished for the failed relationships and Mothers are rewarded.REPORT COMMENTS

My daughters mother decided to have two more kids out of wed-lock after our separation. Because of that for the past 7 years she was unable to work a consistent job. Because of this my child support would fluctuate and court ordered withdraws would increase or decrease when she got a job. I married and I have maintained a consistent lifestyle and the only thing that she does is use the fact that she now has siblings that cant be separated. She has had food stamps and living expenses. At one point, was living in a unfurnished studio paying child support, daycare, food, diapers and clothing. I surrendered my car, moved several times and had utilities cut off some months.Whats even worse is that when I lost my job I fell behind and I was facing jail time. I have no criminal record and never been to prison. My emotional stress and anxiety watching her get new cars and shopping made life that much more difficult to bear. I was denied income assistance and food stamps and at times I had to take food from my ex's fridge to have something for my kid to eat. This whole situation lead to me to work more then one job that led to less time having my daughter. Which also led to my daughters mom complaining to the state that she has her more which increased my support amount. Life is better now but I just paid 10k to attorney that did nothing but increase my child support and add bills because I am now married. She talks bad about me to my daughter teaching her that a single mom with 3 kids is ok and introducing my daughter to other men in her life that never sticks around and told my daughter and her other siblings ( who have different fathers ) that they are the reason she is unhappy. Scary thing is when she had just one kid an I didn't want to be with her she said in her exact words. I will have my own family with or without you and don't need anyone. She did exactly that. Question is, why does the legal system do this to fathers. We become slaves to society and ruled under a law that kills our faith in the system. We love our children unconditionally and having them creates positive determination to succeed not for ourselves but for our children. We loose 99.9% of the time when our child lives less them a mile away and we can only see them for two hours at a time and every other weekend. How can we build, bond, and bind the family connection. The most important thing here is the child. Our children grown to see one parent more worthy and in charge then the other. Children should have a mutual respect for both parents. This only teaches them that choosing sides is how things work.REPORT COMMENTS

This child support deal is so out of control it just needs to be banned. The mother takes care of the kids or child in her home and the father do the same. Therefore it won't be a conflict. I am thoroughly disgusted at the fact that I have watched my brother loose his automotive business license because of a hiccup in payments to the child support agencies. This error, cost him his business, the means of how he was trying to support his family and pay his child support was taken from him. Is the idea here to disable these Men / Women to the point of going to jail as an only option? California state does nothing to the "Dead Beat Dads" who are living off of our prison system, (what do they pay?). The Dad's that are trying to keep a job, start a business, amount to something respectable after a family break up, are cut off at the knees for trying to be legit. The state actually hinders their chances of ever being able to rise above or provide. The interest charges of Child Support does not apply in every state of the U.S. I feel that the Interest is not necessary. I plead that the interest of arrears be stopped, wiped clean, zeroed. It is unfair to our American Men and Women who are trying to support their families. They cannot get a loan, buy a house, take a cruise with family, because of the "Interest" on arrears. The child support fees have been paid for, the interest that rolls over and accrues each year or month is the insanity that never gives them an option to catch up or pay off. Stop killing the spirit of our American people. ERASE all interest on child support fees. Let these people have a goal they can achieve one day. Why are they not allowed to take a vacation with a family they have paid fees for plus interest all these years? Please, help me to do something about this!! This interest money does not go to funding college for these children, it does not go to the custodial parent for child raising, the interest is a money racketeering system that the state collects on. No bank account pays 10 percent interest, so no one trying to earn a living and paying child support should be subjected to these interest fees. I am tired of seeing Men who are good and not "Dead Beats" that are losing their freedom to keep a regular bank account , drivers license, business license, savings account, or just a family vacation because our system treats them WORSE than a terrorist. INVESTIGATION OF DEAD BEAT DADS CHILD SUPPORT REFORM HOW OUR SYSTEM IS FAILING AMERICAS CHILDREN. WHAT IS OUR SYSTEM DOING TO THE FUTURE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD? WHAT DO THEY SEE AS A ROLE MODEL? WHAT IS THE INTEREST CAP A GOVERNMENT AGENCY IS ALLOWED TO CHARGE? IS THERE A CAP? IF NOT, SHOULDN?T THERE BE? WHO GETS THE $ FROM THE INTEREST CHARGED ON CHILD SUPPORT ARREARAGES? WHY IS THE INTEREST CHARGED ON THE WHOLE SUM OWED AND NOT JUST A MONTH BY MONTH BASIS? FOR INSTANCE IF A PERSON MISSES ONE MONTH, THEN THERE SHOULD BE A LATE CHARGE OR AN INTEREST ON THAT PARTICULAR MONTH, WHY DOES IT CARRY ACROSS THE INTIRE AMOUNT OWED IN ARREARS. IT WOULD BE FAIR TO ASSUME THAT IF THE INTEREST OF ARREARS WERE LIFTED, MORE OF THESE DEBTS WOULD BE PAID. THE SOCIAL SERVICES DOES NOT PAY THE MOTHER OR THE CHILD ANY MORE OR LESS FROM THE INTEREST FEES. IT SEEMS UNCONSTITUTIONAL TO TAKE AWAY THESE PARENTS RIGHTS BECAUSE THERE IS A STRUGGLE FOR EMPLOYMENT OR FINANCIAL STABILITY. THERE SHOULD BE A RIGHT TO FILE FOR HARDSHIP DURING CERTAIN SITUATIONS. WHY DOES THE RECEIVING SUPPORT PARENT HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM THE CHILD ON INCOME TAX IF THEY ARE NOT WORKING FOR THAT CHILD? WHY DOES THE INCOME TAX EVEN COME IN TO PLAY? IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO STEAL SOMEONES INCOME TAX RETURN IN WHOLE. IF IT BE A PERCENTAGE FOR WAGES THAT ARE TO BE GARNISHED THAT IS DIFFERENT, BUT THE ENTIRETY IS REMOVING ONES RIGHTS TO FAIR INCOME EARNINGS UNDER THE FEDERAL LAW AND RIGHTS TO FAIR EMPLOYMENT. THE PERSON THAT PAID THOSE FEES FOR THE RIGHT TO WORK OR BE EMPLOYED SHOULD BE THE ONE WHO IS ANNUALLY ALLOWED TO CLAIM THEM AND IF THEY ARE SUPPORTING A CHILD WHILE THE OTHER PARENT DOES NOTHING TO WORK OR PROVIDE FOR THE CHILD IN QUESTION, THEY SHOULD BE THE ONE WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO CLAIM THAT CHILD AS THEY ARE PROVIDING FOR. ARREARS ARE DUE TO CALCULATIONS OR SITUATIONS THAT DOMINO AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS WE OFFER NO RELIEF FOR THE PARENT TO FIX IT. AT FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE, WE THREATEN THEIR WORK PLACE, THEIR DRIVERS LICENSE, THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS, AND WHAT EVER FINANCIAL STABILITIES THEY MIGHT BE WORKING TOWARDS. HOW IS THIS AMERICAN? HOW ARE OUR CHILDREN SUPPOSED TO RESPECT THEIR PARENTS? THE GOVERNMENT IS STRIPPING PARENTS OF RIGHTS AND PUTTING THEM IN SITUATIONS THAT SOMETIMES END UP IN JAIL BECAUSE OF AN INABILITY TO PAY A SUM THAT IS DECIDED UPON BY AN AGENCY. TO BE HONEST, THE CHILD OR RECEIVING PARENT DOES NOT SEE THE WHOLE SUM OF WHAT IS PAID MONTHLY ANYWAY, SO WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR INTEREST? THE INTEREST IS NOT GOING TO THE CHILD TO PAY FOR COLLEGE, THE INTEREST IS ONLY SEEN BY THE GOVERNMENT , NEVER THE CHILD OR REVEIVING PARENT. SO WHERE IS ALL THE INTEREST GOING? THIS IS A QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ANSWERED, BECAUSE IF THE INTEREST THAT IS BEING CHARGES THE PAYING PARENTS WERE ACTUALLY APPLIED TO THESE ACCOUNTS, THERE SHOULD BE SOME POINT WHERE THE ACCOUNTS SHOULD FUTURISTICALLY BE ABLE TO BREAK EVEN. SO WHERE IS THE INTEREST BEING APPLIED? WHERE DOES IT GO? WHY IF SOMEONE PAYS ON TIME OR LATE SHOULD THERE BE A DIFFERENT RATE OF INTEREST APPLIED? A LATE CHARGE, YES, BUT A DIFFERENT INTEREST RATE?? EVEN TO THE ONES WHO TRY TO PAY ON TIME AND STAY IN GOOD STANDING, THERE ARE NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS WHERE THE MISTAKE ON THE AGENCIES PART HAS BEGGED EXCUSAL DUE TO A COMPUTER GENERATED ERROR. HOW MANY WERE MISTAKENLY AFFECTED BY THESE MISTAKES AND NOW REMAIN IN JAIL FOR A COMPUTER GENERATED MISTAKE? A DRIVERS LICENSE ISSUE OR A CHARGE THAT WENT AGAINST THEIR RECORD WHICH CHANGED THEIR ABILITY TO BE EMPLOYED? HOW IS THIS HELPING OUR CHILDREN AGAIN??? THERE IS NO LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR A WORKING MAN THAT HAS CHILD SUPPORT DUES. EVEN IF HE PAID ON TIME FROM DAY ONE, IF ONE PAYMENT WERE MISSED OR A CHANGE IN JOB AND PAPERWORK HICCUPS, THE MAN COULD BE AFFECTED FINANCIALLY FOR A LIFETIME DUE TO ONE ERROR, MOST LIKELY, NOT HIS OWN. SO WHAT INCENTIVES ARE WE GIVING MEN WHO PAY ON TIME, WHO HAVE NOT MISSED A PAYMENT IN A FULL YEAR? WE PAT THEM ON THE BACK BY TELLING THEM THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO AN INCOME TAX RETURN. WE MESS WITH THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS ALL YEAR SO THEY ARE CONSTANTLY JUMPING THROUGH HOOPS TO FIX FAKE BANK CHARGES, DEPRESSING THE WILL TO THRIVE AND CARRY ON BEING A LEGIT HUMAN. Women fight for years for equal rights and they are considered equal to men. Having a child is a choice for both mother and father. A father should have the same rights as a mother in bringing a child into the world. If a woman want to have a baby a man can not stop her. If a man DO NOT want to have a child he should have the right to not be a father in the first 6 month. If a mother do not tell him then she is the sole parent. Child Suport laws is a business making CLEAR laws and rule to end the battles between mother and fathers is a must. Everyone know what is going on. I would like to know why these women have to be so greedy and needy when you're with someone else because they didn't want to act right. I'm dealing with this child support issue again but this time it's much worse. My 2 kids ages 7 and 10 there mother is trying to get me for 900 a month when I have another family. But the crazy part is she is making time in a half more than me. I go to child support to get a modification and I get the run around as usual because I can't afford the payments and trying to help my new spouse pay bills, food, gas, and other things. So I got served 4 subpoenas within 6 months. And to mention that my job is downsizing so the hrs are being cut and people are getting laid off permanent. Now the system wants to take your license, put it on your credit report, take your income tax and you got to pay for insurance on the kids I mean really how can we function or do anything for them if everything is stripped away from us? Where is our relief? Why are we men getting punished for this? Where is our justice? They need to investigate or ban child support. My thing is child support should be made this way, when the kids are with the mother she needs to support them in her home and when the father gets them he supports them in his home. Now you can get a better visual on where your money is going. So as of right now I had to get a lawyer to represent my case which is money I don't have that could 've been going to my kids when I get them. The NJ Family court judges had consistently deceived me to stop child support payment of working adult children and to not granting backdating of child support arrears though they finally granted the stop payment dates to prior years (the mother deceived their status as well but discovered, yet no payment stoppage and no arrears reduction). I've found this to be a common practice. And not just the judges but their agents for ea. child support cases deceive about hot to terminate child support payments: When asked how to stop the payment, 2 clerks (one my assigned child sup. agent) have said i need to file for emancipation. So i did. but they did emancipate with the date after the hearing but didn't stop the payment. after several months. Then when i re-contacted them again, they said i need to file a separate motion to stop the payment - i protested why they didn't instruct that B4 but they evaded my question. So this time i've filed for the terminations of my oldest adult children with my spouse's approved signature with date of termination + notary stamp. Finally, the NJ judge agreed w the said date. But after waiting for months, they still hadn't removed her portion of the child sup. pmt. I filed to terminate her portion again along with the other working adult children but the judge ruled it didn't make sense because she's already emnacipated. I protested that i re-filed to terminate the (agreed) payment and he said he'll look into the non-stoppage of pmt but he evaded saying 'oh, it's really part of the entire package of child sup. pmt so it won't be reduced ... blah blah, ...). Also, during the hearing, the jdge asked my spouse if she's receiving an SSI for one of my children. she said yes. but judge didn't remove his portion of the payment. As you see, they keep on deceiving to terminate and knowingly prolong the payments + not giving out backdating of arrears. I now have a divorce lawyer to get the arrears reduction but he doubts whether i can get it despite all these evidences of 'mistrials' and mis information by the NJ court. Well in my story is was in a relationship with a lady we was talking about getting married in a year she came home from the doctor one day said he told her if she was going to have any more kids she would have to do that year she would led at some point after a year would have to have surgery on her female parts and would be able to have kids any more she was crying stated that she so wanted to have a child with me where it would be a part of me and her . Guess I fail for it hook line and sinker we decited to try all it took was one time she got pregnant and next day told me she didn't need me any more she has my kid and now I have to pay her . Also later on she came to me and said she wanted to do the right thing and get married where are kid would have a mom and dad even thow when my son was born she never gave him my last name she gave him her last name witch was the same last name of her other kids dads name and had him calling her other kids dad as his dad any ways got her to singe a prenump because of what happen in the beginning and got married was married 3 weeks witch was only together one week before I went back to work while at work 2 weeks she text me told me she wanted a devoice and so it started got to court she never told her lawyer about the prenump and lied about child support payments that I had made sent my son was born . But I work in the oil field like her dad did and her mother set down as was telling my mother right after me and my ex was married how her dad worked in the oil field and she devorce her dad and took him to the cleaner with child support . Not all women are that way but a lot are they know if they have a kid they can live off the man with child support but I bet if you look back from 1900 to time child support started I thank in 1975 there was a lot less devoice back then because people new having kids was not away to make a living back in those days and families work out there problems in stead of I don't need you I have your child so there fore I have your money and your going to pay me and yes goose both way for man are woman . And if your work off shore in the oil field the child support payments are high for one kid over 1000.00 a month that kinda a money for one kid she doesn't need to work to the fact she dropped all the child support from her other kids dad cause she has mine to live off of she has also told me she uses the child support money from me as her income and that is how she gets credit to buy everything and to pay for it all . Also want get a job I thank it should be a law if you get child support you should have to work a full time job if your kids is over 5 and if you choose not to work then they should lose the right to get child support but this will never be come law due to the fact every state out there would lose the 5% they make off of every dollar .REPORT COMMENTS

Child support should not have the wide scope of taking our drivers license. Also I went to get a hunting license and child support won't let me get one. So now can't eat or drive to a job. If I wasn't in my child life I might have a better understanding. But this is happening while child support takes from my check. The only bills i have are vehicle, insurance, cell phone, a storage unit and mailbox, because i live in a 12 ft cargo trailer. But yet she lives in a house that her parents gave her with no rent and her new boy toy lives there too and shes feeding him and his 3 rug rats. But yet she doesnt have to prove where anything is going or what shes doing my oldest daughter is forced to babysit all of them (5 in total not including herself and 2 are autistic ) and shes 13 she calls me all the time crying but when i bring it up to the courts, they tell me im making up stories. Im getting sick of this crap. I am forced to eat every other day work my butt off and sleep in a cargo trailer every night and then told by the courts that basically im worthless and theyll do what they want. it been 3 years of this crap. The way they do things are going to push people over the edge and when bad things do happen they act all astonished and say how could this happen. They need a system to prove where the money is going and if it all doesnt get used for valid reasons then they give it back. They need proof that the children are not being used as daycare workers possibly doing random house calls or something. My husband is the sole financial provider for his son, he spends more than half of his time sharing living with us, yet because he makes more money, he has to be financially responsible for ALL cost associated with his child such as child care, school supplies and clothes, regular clothing, dental and vision insurance, while the mother is only responsible for medical because she has free state insurance due to her low income status. She chooses to work for a low salary over night so that she does not move in her tax bracket. Now we are told we also have to pay her child support because of this. Even though he primarily resides with us and we cover all of his expenses. She is also behind in her original child support order by over $9,000 and today in medication, they gave her a $6,000 credit. It it disgusting that they government would create such a system. In Tennessee Child Support takes the fathers drivers license. No way to get to work. Buses cost money. Most of the mothers won't work as long as they are getting child support, they use the money on themselves, not the kids. My grandson gets a Social Security Check. Money comes out of his check fro 1 child, but 2 checks from his disability for that child is given for that child. One to the grandmother and one to the mother. Its time for a change. My sons mother uses my child support money to pay for a car she bought. She openly admitted this to me when I lost my job and couldn't make a couple of child support payments. She called me up to complain that if it don't pay support she will lose her car. I drive a beat up vehicle. She drives in something newer. I still have to pay to support my son when he is with me every summer. During those 2 1/2 months that he lives with me I pay her child support for a child she doesn't have. I pay for his flights and anything else he needs. She helps with nothing. At one point my assets were frozen because she got government assistance from a different state which she moved to. They came after me like I wasn't supporting my child and it went on for a year until I finally proved that I was paying support thru a different state. Now as I try to modify the order neither state that's involved is willing to modify it. They keep playing the blame game and say it has to be done thru the other. I'm stuck with no answers. I try calling the case worker but they only work by voicemail so every time I call o have to sit by the phone and wait for someone to call back which never happens anyway. All the while my sons mother just sits back and collects. If she doesn't want to work then she just quits and gets more help from the government. She has done this is the past also. Three years went by were she wasn't working. I paid for her to live but couldn't have custody of my son because it would cost me money to get it done. If we lose our jobs and can't pay we go to jail. Then when you are released from prison its that much harder to get a job and pay for the support. You will still owe support while you are in jail too. How is this even remotely close to fair. I've over heard women speak about how they only date guys with money so they could pay support to them is they have kids together. I met a woman once who choses not to work because she get support for all five of her kids and they are all fathered by different men. As she told me her preference is military men because this guarantees she will get her money. We are begging for chance. This system is doing more harm than good to families at the moment. My son wants to live with me but can't. I have a new family now and cannot support them because of this and yet my sons mother has more than she needs. Taxes.....forget about it.
