During the Fall and Spring the ground is soft in this part of the country. Anyone who raises animals, whether for business or personal reasons, will have animals who become muddy. The only way to keep horses, cows, dogs, chickens, pigs, or any other creature out of the mud is to place them in confinement on cement. If you allow a small child a choice of remaining on cement or jumping in a mud puddle, which choice do they make most often? If they choose the mud puddle, does that mean they should be taken from their parents? And mud is not usually an abuse to horses in particular; it keeps their hooves soft and easily trimmed as opposed to hard and susceptible to dangerous cracking. Granted, there are livestock owners who abuse their animals, but what is being allowed to happen now to any unsuspecting owner is the premise of guilt before proof. This is in total opposition to our professed system of justice.REPORT COMMENTS
