How sad for our young people today who are starting out on their future lives and will never be able to take the government from reaching into their wallet to take more than their share. I was astonished when I heard about this situation and only hope someone out there with some common sense and power to use it properly will help put this sad situation to right.

Congress is made up of crooks who belong in prison for what they have done to student loan debtors. Return consumer protections and please President Trump throw the lying cheating scumbags behind bars. THAT'S WHERE THEY BELONG!!

Stop the bad lending practices now. The borrowers have no way to be part of our economical society by strong arming defaults and seizure of assets and furthering any way to be part of of the economy.

Return Standard Bankruptcy Protections that were removed in 2005. Students who have been sick and/or unemployed due to the recession have been greatly harmed. This bill was pushed through Congress by the banking industry without any consideration for the potential long-term impacts to borrowers, and the fact that it has encouraged predatory loans for Private/Supplemental college loans.

No one is policing the predatory Loan Servicers and their loan shanking "capitalized interests". As a result o one can pay off their loans and we become debt slaves for life. This is ruining our country. Help make America great again. Regulate these thugs or help bring back Bankruptcy protection to students. The 2005 Bankruptcy Reform act sponsored by the crooked Senator Grassley took away our rights.

NJ Class Loans (HESSA) and the overly aggressive collection attorney's that they hire after they refuse to work with you are ruining people lives. Here's one article (one of many on this shark loan program): https://www.propublica.org/article/new-jerseys-student-loan-program-is-state-sanctioned-loan-sharking Sincerely, Suzanne

Return Standard Bankruptcy Protections . Over 30 years of damages have occurred from the destructive removal of Constitutional Rights. The Public are becoming increasingly aware legislators stepped outside of "immunity" and operated in their "individual" capacity when they knowingly removed Students and Families Constitutional Rights. The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land. Seemingly Statutes and Codes are merely interpretations which are to merit the Constitution's intent. Legislators are inherently aware of this process. +++++ Repeal 11 USC 523(a)(8). Urgently++++++ Restore the Peoples faith in their Congress by stopping the harm to their families/children.

I'd love to see America Great AGAIN!!! We need to invest in our kids, they are our future. A college education should not be a debt kids carry throughout their lifetime. They shouldn't be punished for getting a education. This needs to be fixed. Mr. Trump America has elected you to make a better America, you can start by fixing the college debt. ASAP

My college shoved student loans down my throat. I was 18, young , poor and naive. I'm drowning in $250k of debt with the balance growing. I pay my loans to the best of my ability and live a minimal lifestyle. I have no car payment, no credit card debt, and no life. I would be forever grateful to you , Mr.Trump, allowing me to have a fresh start at life. I voted for you President Trump because I believe you will be the answer to all of our prayers.

I am a graduate student in $140,000 debt struggling to keep my head above water! My hard work and goals shouldn?t be limited by an outrage amount of debt forced down my throat by organizations concerned with only the bottom line. I am asking for your support to making life more attainable and worthwhile. Make America Great Again!

Life thrown me a slider, and I ended up homeless and unemployed. My student debt just skyrocketed and I'm burdened by great debt. I work full time, pay my rent, car payment and other costs of living, yet my student loan payment is so high I need to give up food and gasoline just to pay the interest. Congress needs to set a cap and bring back consumer protection. Debt is slavery, and theirs millions of us in the same debtors prison.

I am drowning in thirty years old debt that, due to a ten year ago default has ballooned my loans from the original $30k to over $200k. When it is "forgiven" in 20 years, I will have repaid the principal twice over and yet I will likely owe $150k or more in income taxes for the amount recognized as income. I have never made the kind of income that would allow me to repay my debt. If I could simply discharge all the accrued interest and default fees, I might someday be able to get out from under it but, as it is, it is a death sentence. Press restore bankruptcy protection!

the interest rates and repayment structure (precalculated interest of which every penny must be paid BEFORE even one cent goes to principle) is government loan sharking - parent plus loans have have place undue pressure on parents... forcing them to chose between their child and crushing debt... we must fix this
