The banksters and government's war on education; give both sides (students and institutions) money and we are your slaves for life. Pavlov's dogs that are well trained, by the oligarchy. END THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ... Get the government out of the loan business! Even the SL Forgiveness program is "bait and switch" to get you hooked on escalating the debt and not reducing it, nor is it affordable. Until Americans understand our federal reserves fake fraudulent system of QE fiat e-money, you will never understand how MOST people are slaves working 7-9 months a year to pay taxes they don't own and interest on mortgage, car, and student loan debt that was created out of an illegal transaction that was just chalk full of criminal fraudulent conveyance. The system is grotesque as are the humans and institutions that created it. You want to mortgage a country's future, create students loans, totally unsustainable.REPORT COMMENTS

If you EVER want the economy to improve, this is your first step. Funny how people can pay and their balance always goes UP anyway, instead of down. Sounds like loan sharking to me.REPORT COMMENTS

I know all of you are rich and financed by billionaires who want to keep receiving lots of money from people. The problem is that when people are overwhelmed by debt the economy suffers. As a 64 yr old woman with debt from a Masters which I will not live long enough to pay off I hope that you care about people. Which I am not convinced that you do since you want to end every social program. So your friends become richer at some point the economy will not withstand the strain. So sad you don't really care about people like me.REPORT COMMENTS

At this point in time, people need to have a college degree to be able to advance in any career. Once they get that education, however, it is still hard to find good paying jobs which will allow a person to earn a decent living, with a roof over their heads, food on the table, and transportation (car or public transit, either has costs associated). College is too expensive, and student loans only add to the burden. A comprehensive overhaul of post-secondary education is in order, but in the meantime, repealing 11 USC 523(a)(8) will help.REPORT COMMENTS

The whole educational system in the USA is backwards and is leading us to become a 3rd world nation. One immediate way to correct the course is by returning standard consumer protections to student loan debt including bankruptcy protection. An uneducated population cannot compete on the global stage in this age of information and technology. If we are truly committed to making America Great Again, we are going to have to place a priority on education. As long as we punish those who pursue education by burdening them with debt beyond reason, we will continue to sink in terms of world competitiveness. Free this generation of this burden by starting with the return of consumer protections.REPORT COMMENTS

My student loans expect me to treat them like a house loan, but a house loan puts a roof over my head and I can still bankrupt it if I can't afford to pay it. And yet because of my student loans I am not eligible for a home loan.REPORT COMMENTS

As a senior citizen, living only on my widow's benefits, I live to see the day that protections for all student loans be restored, especially for loans that are older and causing hardships to folks like myself. For too long, for too many people, the student loans they carry, and are never able to repay due to life's circumstances, have kept them from enjoying even a modest way of life. This is America....this shameful situation should never carry over into one more administration. Please, allow a Trump presidency to make this right! Thank you, for myself, and for all those who are struggling with this student loan debt.REPORT COMMENTS

Students and parents can no longer bear the crushing burden of Student loan debt. It is sure to be just as, if not more, detrimental as the recent housing crisis. You have the power to stop this. Do it.. The cost of attaining an education should not ruin ones life. There needs to be a lowering of interest rates ( 2%), restoration of bankrupcy protections and automatic loan forgiveness on federal and private loans after 10 years.. Drain the pond of agencies and people intent on attaining obscene profit off the backs of Americans trying to better their position in life and be an asset to their country. We, all of us, deserve better. Be the one that sees that we get it.REPORT COMMENTS

Dear President Elect Trump, I beg you, if you truly want to make America great again, I'm sure a man of your standing would admit that a very huge part of that would be to ensure that a skilled and educated workforce is paramount to this country being both competitive highly productive and self-sustaining. Unfortunately, our students are graduating with such high debt these days that some are choosing not to even attend college, or if they are in college now, they may not go to graduate school because of the fear of not having the insurance of filing bankruptcy or having true loan forgiveness, like all other loans are allowed. This is ludicrous and unfair. We are stifling the futures of these students who have such great potential. They may give up on their dreams or end up in poverty because their loans are such a burden. How does this benefit America? It is not only unfair and should be unconstitutional, it is our own government basically hurting itself by not helping it's own people to better the country. I ask you to please help our young Americans to make America the best it can ever be.REPORT COMMENTS

I've been disabled ever since I became a senior earning my BFA. Because I have no consumer protection my 80k borrowed booked into 400k. I'm permanently disabled and due to their institution of 11 USC 523(a)(8) I've been left with debts that I will never be able to pay. I didn't choose to become disabled. I'd trade my position to be able to work in a heartbeat, but I'm not able to. Forcing me to pay back what I borrowed not only puts me on a bad position, but constitutes a legal hardship which I will never be able to pay back in my lifetime. This is cruel and unusual punishment and I deserve to live my life with some dignity. Yours in Christ, Rachel A. WeisbergerREPORT COMMENTS
