I support this cause. Our ancestors contributed to the history of this state and they fought and most importantly they led this state to what it is but was taken from them. I would like to advocate for this organization.

I am so proud to finally be 18 and allowed to VOTE! This movement has more significance than most people can imagine. My life has been very difficult in just the few years on this earth but instead of crying about it I need to focus every day on becoming a better man. Which brings me to my point in signing this petition; a good man who obtained land by fee simple on Galveston Island, Henry P. Porretto, Jr., my grandfather, an exceptionally good man who gave to his country, his community and his family unconditionally. The land he acquired was granted to Juan Seguin through a Mexican Land Grant for being a loyal and courageous protector of this great state. My grandfather was educated in land and one fot eh reasons he purchased these lands were to protect the rights in which they were derived, a historical factor of great importance to this state. So, tell me what gives the state of Texas General Land Office the right to cause my grandfather such pain and heartache over land he acquired and operated legally for over 50 years? What gives the State General Land Office to keep fighting my mom for property the courts already reviewed evidence in they committed fraud? What gives them the right to take back land they gave away and promised to honor in which it granted? What gives the state of Texas the right to say land is eroding when it's not nor ever was? What gives the State of Texas to ask the Federal Government for money to re nourish land that was never under water but told the federal government it was just so they could take more from the people? What gives the State of Texas the right to contribute to my grandfathers death and lie to the people and then, ignore a jury of the people? I support this petition and any walk or demonstration on the steps of the Capitol in Austin to not only write it but to voice in numbers the destruction the state general land office is causing many peoples lives, families and their rights.

We hope and pray the Texas Supreme Court Justices understand the illegal unjust acts committed by the State of Texas General Land Office trying to take what they can't obtain legally. They create dissension-take what is not theirs illegally while forgetting how and why the land office was created. Irony is they now want to steal back what they legally "relinquished all rights and claims to." Why? Money! The state GLO creates new laws, codes, rules and restrictions to take from those who have owned land part of historical land grants for over 100 years. Often owned by families who use these lands to surviveand rights are uses affected adversely; a hundred years of history is lost and a family financially broke trying to prove in Texas courts what has already been established 2, 3 or 4 times before. The GLO will claim land for various reasons and private owners and their families are looked at as valueless. In order to acquire federal funding or to satisfy their own 'back door' agendas the 'people' of Texas aren't made aware of these reasons the State attempts to steal lands. We are supportive of this grant movement and encourage you all not allow the state to cause you to believe all beaches privately owned in Texas are by 'rich people' who want to prevent access. Some beaches are privately owned and share more rights with the public than state owned beaches. Not all beaches are eroding either. The state of Texas citizens and property owners need to be made aware the GLO divides and conquer voters with inaccurate and false information to scare the pubic into believing the land owners of historical Mexican and Spanish land grant properties are the problem when it's the corrupt politicians in office who steal from the innocent is the problem....

When will our government honor the treaty of the Guadalupe Hidalgo in regards to the loss of our lands and the 1942 Claims Treaty. Please correct the injustice against the Tejano people.

God will prevail and grant with truth. My grandmother Refugia Ysasi is an heir but having her was sufficient to my mother and I. We live in under laws that are not abided by nor followed, much less read but want the accredits granted. Federally and Internationally,we live to rely on man and what is owed. God controls the now and future and sees who is right and wrong. Many have grants belonging but yet to be given for lack of honesty through the Government. Isn't this the United States of America? Hope and pray that these funds are not being used to enhance and help with the economic defecit set by the so called USA leaders.

I live in Madera, CA and I just recently found out about these organizations that are trying to seek recompense for a prior injustice. I wholeheartedly support these efforts. I was born in Mission, Tx, and on my dad's side our family has an interest in the Spanish Land Grants.
