I signed petitions years ago to stop the oil drilling!! This is what happens. If only BP could've fixed the problem correctly and appropriatly, instead of using a cheap replacement part!! I can't express the pain I feel in one paragraph. Who can? STOP KILLING THE WORLD!!

Unbelievable that the president would stand by and do little to nothing to hold BP accountable and to find a solution to this crisis after 2+ months! The well-being of the people's livelihood in the gulf is at stake, and there are innocent sea creatures dying horrible deaths. This is America!! If this crisis happened in another country - I can guarantee you that our government would have found a solution months ago!! I used to think that I was honored to live in America but I'm not so sure anymore.

First, you put the fox in control of the chicken house (BP in control of the gusher). Then you tell the fox he may be made into a fur coat (i.e. criminal prosecution) so he's looking to save his own hide rather than save the chicken coop. Next, you tell the people of the Gulf Coast you'll be with us until this is over, but we will be beyond help once the fox has ravished the coop (the Gulf Coast). If we treated this gusher as a foreign invasion (which it is), we could get the job done. Deploy the troops now.

Stop offshore drilling, it's proven time and time again to be simply not worth the risk.

Looks to me like they are more concerned with collecting their oil than the clean up... An why did they stop the live feed from down there? What are they hiding?

Don't let this become another Katrina, remembered years later as an example of ordinary people paying the price for bureaucracy and inefficiency. We need the kind of concentrated action that the American people have yet to see. Please do what the country and the world need.

This is getting ridiculous! The spill should have been cleaned months ago! I hope these greedy idiots pay restitution to those affected in this incident and take responsibility.

BP either was extraordinarily criminal negligence regarding the Deepwater Horizon Well--its construction and blow-out, OR it was a deliberate attack on our Gulf, animal life, agriculture, and human Gulf residents. Either way, I believe in this petition PLUS I want the following: 1) That the federal and state governments investigate BP IMMEDIATELY under Rico statutes for criminal activity and negligence; 2) That the United States captures the upper echelon BP executives and hands them over to the UN to be tried at the Hague for crimes against the environment and humanity, in addition to putting the BP executives on trial in the United States; 3) That if this cannot be done, that the BP upper echelon be declared enemy combatants, and that the United States military--SEAL and Delta counterterrorism teams included--be dispatched to hunt down and capture or terminate them; 4) And that Halliburton, Goldman Sachs, or wealthy individuals with vested interests involved with these corporations connected to the BP Oil Disaster be prosecuted to the full extent of the law--OR BE DECLARED ENEMY COMBATANTS AND DEALT WITH SEVERELY AS PROVIDED UNDER THE PATRIOT ACT. Guantanamo Bay is too good for these envirocriminals. And if the elected "representatives" don't start defending this country from BP and other corporate predators, they need to be put on trial for TREASON.

The subliminal international war for oil has spilled onto American soil. I don't care about that. What I do care about is you ignorant fat cats are not warning people of the dangerous chemicals in the ocean, and little kids and other folks are now swimming in BP's toxic mystery sludge. You people in charge of this country have serious morality issues, and have just tossed the United States of America into a bio-hazard waste basket.

I do not agree that the well site should be nuked whatsoever. The rest of the previous I agree with. I would also add that Richard Cheney and any other members of the Bush Administration be held accountable for their tampering with and loosening of oil drilling regulations which led to the conditions which propitiated this catastrophe. Any and all personal claims of injury or damage compensation made by individuals shall be processed within not more than six months. There shall be no limitations on the amount of damages that BP shall be held responsible for. They shall be required to pay for each, every, and all damages incurred by their recklessness. Also, you must immediately investigate Goldman Sachs, BP, and anyone else who dumped and shorted BP stock in the weeks previous to the oil spill and they must be prosecuted for manipulation of the stock market and their foreknowledge of the event must be thoroughly investigated. Also, it must be ordered that effective and ongoing testing of the air, ground water, ocean waters, and soil be immediately undertaken and the results shared transparently and freely with the public. Corporate personhood must be ended immediately. All corporate influence in our government and in all political campaigns and elections must be ended immediately. All transferral of American based manufacturing and service jobs must end immediately. All American citizens should immediately receive a check in the amount of $15,000 per adult for the purpose of installing solar/wind power in their homes. The governments of both the UK and the US, whom own 80% of the total stocks of BP, will pay each American adult citizen $50,000 for their rightful share as their compensation for damages for the destruction of our Gulf of Mexico. Any and all other destruction done to our environment shall be henceforth paid in full to the American People by those responsible, including damage and contaminations to the waters, soil, water supply, and atmosphere. Regulations shall be put into place that prohibit contamination of and damage to the environment by any corporation. Violations thereof shall result in immediate suspension of the right to function within this country further - Damages in excess of $1 million shall result in immediate imprisonment of those responsible.

This is rediculous ! How long has the spill been going on for ? Think about it. Your not just killing innocent animals, but your taking peoples jobs do to the fishing being bad. Multi million dollar businesses that are going under do to the oil. And on top of that BP is a multi BILION dollar business that can't even stop the disaster they made. I want my waters and everyone else's waters clean for us surfers and the animals of the enviroment.
