I worked from 1972 to 2004 in the private sector, paying a small fortune into Social Security. I have worked only 8 years in the public sector. It is not fair that I have to give up ANY portion of my SS Benefit.

Please repeal these ridiculous and unfair laws. I earned every penny of my LA County retirement $303.00/mo and my Social Security benefit $1076.00/mo. SSA is keeping $80/mo of my benefit. I need my $80 to pay for food and medication. Thanks or listening.

This windfall is absolutely unfair to us that worked to gain social security benefits and then when I became qualified they take 40% of my benefit. Needs to be made fair, now.

I paid more then my share and now they tell me I'm not entitled to full benefits because I have a state pension. What about our congressmen, senators and judges, giving up their benefits. What were they thinking?

The Social Security Fairness Act is to restore social security contributions made ** Before ** someone became a police officer or teacher. Without restoring fairness we are penalizing those who have gone into public service. It isn't free money, its not a trick, these are social security funds and entitlements we have already earned and paid for when we worked in the private sector. This is a strong voter's issue... support it and vote for passage.

There are 108 co-sponsors in the House. If 25% of all the Representatives support this legislation cant we at least get it out of committee and to a vote?

Thank you very much for working to eliminate the mis-named and grossly unfair windfall elimination provision. Misnamed, because in no way is there a "windfall." Any Social Security benefit received by an employee who engaged in both covered and uncovered employment is entirely due to his work experience in COVERED employment. Grossly unfair, because a worker's basic monthly benefit is ALREADY REDUCED as a result of his work experience in uncovered employment. State workers, such as myself, have absolutely no choice in the employer's decision to remain outside of the Social Security system. To penalize the worker because of the employer's decision is irrational, arbitrary and just plain cruel. The Government Offset Provision suffers from the same irrational, arbitrary and unfair defects. Plus, it is even more unfair than the WEP because (a) it applies in situations where the employee on whose the spousal benefit is based is even more removed from the "offending" pension than is the case for the WEP and (b) unlike the WEP, there is not even a theoretical way to work down the GPO once it applies There is simply no valid reason for these two limitations on a public worker's right to receive 100% of the retirement benefits they worked so hard to earn.

Sent to Congress and US House Ways and Means Committee?s Social Security Sub Committee and Florida?s Senators This is my fifth attempt in sending you the following: This in regards to the Social Security Fairness Act 2013 I retired after 30 years of service in the Fire Department and receive a pension I do not expect to receive any benefits from Social Security base on any earnings from the department since we have a pension and did not contribute. I have work other jobs over the past 30 years and have paid into social security I am currently working and paying into social security I will be working till I reach retirement age I feel that it is unfair that my benefits will be cut because I worked outside the system while working for the city I only ask that we should all receive the benefits we earned. For most of us it is a small amount but in today ecommony it means a lot. Many others and I urge you and Congress or any Committee to repeal this rule and pass The Social Security Fairness Act this act has sat around long enough it time to give public service employees thie fair share they have paid for, Thank You Stephen Vidurek 4070 Chardonnay Drive Viera Florida 32955 e-mail bfdbc@hotmail.com Thank You Steve Vidurek

It is unfair to reduce social security because someone has a public pension. Why not reduce it for private pension too. Does that sound rational. No, of course not and I would be totally against it.
