All dogs deserve love and a home. Too many times have I gone to a shelter and seen a large number of pit bulls in the kennels. These poor dogs need forever homes, but unfortunately many places restrict the dog breed you can have. This makes adopting a oitbull or any of the other restricted breeds very difficult, and those animals deemed "dangerous" in the shelter that have hearts of gold have a chance of being put down. Let those of us who want to adopt these dogs adopt them. Stop restricting certain breeds.

There is no such thing as an "aggressive breed". That is proven 100% bull shit. Idiot humans are the ones to get the gold star for creating any aggression in ANY BREED. DONT SINGLE OUT BREEDS. ITS NOT FAIR!!! It's just like racism. How dare you assume any puppy is automatically "aggressive" upon BIRTH. HAHA!!! That's actually hilarious to think! Shows how much common sense these ignoramuses have. HUMANS - YOU- ARE THE CULPRIT. How DARE YOU!!!!!!

I have a beautiful Pitbull named Evolution. She's been through so many hardships with me and is currently my Emotional Support Animal. I don't know where I'd be with out her. Breed specific legislation is based solely on opinions and not scientific evidence nor is it backed by situational reports regarding the specific breeds within the legislation. A dog, just like a human, no matter the breed, no matter the race, becomes who they become based on the way they were raised. This is BASIC psychology and YES it applies to the psychological mindsets of any dogs just as well as it applies to any human being. End breed specific legislation and end the torment that people have to go through to keep their loved ones. My Pitbull is a scaredy cat, pun intended, but seriously -- she's skiddish, not scary. She runs away from conflict. She's amazing and greatly improves my quality of life. AGAIN I beg you. END BSL!

End this BS and worry about ending dog fights instead!!!

I am a proud mother of a red nose pit bull whom I rescued. He is the love of my life and I couldn't imagine my life without him. Great around children and other dogs. I believe it is the way these animals are raised but not breed specific. Just as human beings I think we do more harm than any dog could ever do in a lifetime.

What is the point? To have yet another means of charging people for happiness, for safety and love? Or is this just another way of trying to control people and sway things in favor of all you ignorant policy and law makers? The sad fact is that if there were a similar policy for humans, you would be thrown in jail or at least heavily condemned for racisim and discrimination. This BSL policy has absolutely no backing in science, you merely chose to discriminate against the breeds of dog that just "look" mean or have a muscular physique. This is a completely unnecessary policy that is just causing more problems among the citizens and the government, as well as throwing unnecessary resources at something that is literally doing NOTHING that you law makers thought this ban would do. So take it away, just think of how it would feel if all of sudden some jerk comes up and says, " Sorry, your child is too big, they seem like they would be unhealthy. Don't worry parents, I'll take them away from you and ban all big children for being unhealthy, that should "fix" the problem". You do not want your family torn apart over something so petty and unnecessary, so why would you want to do the same to millions of families everywhere? We are humans, we are supposed to be helping to perserve and maintain this beautiful gift of life, ranging from an elephant to a shrub. We are healers, we are good at healing and nurturing, when we come together anything can happen. That is the beauty of humanity. With policies like this we are being took away from our true purpose, unfortunately we have been moving more toward materialism than staying connected with the world around us. This BSL policy is yet another way to keep us seperated. If we truly want unity, then we need to start making changes to things that need to be changed, not to things that are merely put in place to hurt and **** people off.

Research shows that out of over 7,000 dog bites and scratches each year, 90% of them are from NON-banned breeds. 90%!!! Pit bulls are not strangers to stereotypes against them. These stereotypes first began because pit bulls were most commonly used for ILLEGAL dog fighting. The pit bulls are abused, neglected, forced to fight against their own will, malnourished, and punished for not following orders. And our response to this? Make a ban on pit bulls who have been TRAINED to kill other dogs or else they get beaten and often times, beaten to death. Pit bulls are by far the sweetest dogs I have ever known. Every dog has an aggressive side to them, it's their natural born instincts that make them this way. You could label a chihuahua for being aggressive if you wanted, but no, it's too cute and small to be labeled as "aggressive". And making pit bulls wear muzzles in public only further justifies how ridiculous, prejudice, and ignorant people are to certain breeds. The image people see when a dog wears a muzzle is that they are aggressive and vicious, which is not the case. Some people are not even aware of there being a BSL in their city, so seeing a muzzled dog on the street just proves any stereotype in their head that a specific breed (square head and muscular bodies = pit bull) is aggressive. BLS does not only prove how stupid and ignorant we are, but it tears families apart. Taking someone's dog away is not justifiable in any case. The emotional bond one makes with a dog is irreplaceable because each dog is special and specific to its owner. Stop BLS and save pit bulls

How can an entire breed be banned for actions of some? How can a dog be labeled aggressive when the person on the other end of that leash was their teacher on how to behave/react? How can we sit back and watch you decide for a community, a city, a state, or even a country what justifies such a label? How many in this decision making have actually interacted with the breeds you deem dangerous? How many wonderful stories did you ignore in this theory because it was so much easier to hear only negative? How do you tell a person that they have to remove their dog from their family or it will euthanized simple because of this pathetic law? In telling that family, will you be the one to look at that four year old child that felt nothing but love and had their first best friend in that dog why that dog has to leave? Just curious why the government has any right to label breeds that many of you know nothing about. You can listen to all the horror stories, and yet let the monsters on two legs that caused so much of this biased view simply walk, and make the animal pay for all of it. Please take the time to really see the beauty in these breeds you want to ban.

I'm not afraid of the dog that attacked me, regardless he was a pit, I am more afraid of his human who trained him to attack. I've been bitten 3 times in my life all by 3 different breeds, yet I still am not afraid of the dog but of the humans. 1 Pitt, 1 chow, and 1 doberman. I myself took it upon myself to raise 1 of each breed to prove a point to people who says it's the breed not the human, and never did my 3 babies attack me or anyone. It's the human that is sick, depraved and violent, the human chooses his weapon and dogs are often the weapon. We do not blame the gun for killing nor the knife all bc they are not living, but the living being behind it. That goes for the dogs. Treat them fairly, and train them correctly, make them family and they will be so. Don't ban them bc they look like a Pitt bull or are one, that's wrong. Punish the human who made a decision for that animal, they only are there to please the owner!
