There not only needs to be a law against it but there needs to be a plan put in place that allows for victim's still suffering from the emotional consequences to have their lives repaired at the expense of either the corporations or the guilty parties. My own personal experience is one which occurred for over 4years while working for a major corporation in NYC. Over the course of those 4 years a group of 3 specific managers made it a daily objective to "make my life at work hell until I decided to quit" - using the leader's specific words. Attorney after attorney has responded to me indicating they will not review any of the details of the case because they are not specific to a protected class and therefore unprofitable to their law firms. They have also all made statements to the effect of "there is not law against being a bad boss" when I attempted to provide evidence that indisputably proves multi occurrences where altered performance reports were used to suggest I was failing to meet my responsibilities and done so in such a matter that the reports were not shown to me until after raise and bonus decisions were distributed. The HR department refused to correct the financial consequences to me resulting from the reports even after acknowledging that they found errors during their review and advised the managers that they need to adjust their actions going forward. The managers agreed to but never complied and continued month after month and quarter after quarter. The end result was eventually I was dismissed without reason and encouraged to resign instead and sign a document containing a statement that would release the firm of any future claims of any wrong doing - a document which I declined to sign as it would have been signing a lie. The results of the financial consequences lead to increased credit cards and no income. 3 banks will now most likely never have the balances owed to them repaid. My gym membership is past due and their business will soon be short a client. I do not have the money to cover the taxes I owe from a 401k loan taken in attempt to make it through this time which will have direct impact on the federal government, the economy and ultimately every other person tied to a business who used to receive business from me. I have cut myself off from nearly every friend and family member during the course of the 4yrs it went on because the stress of what went on in the office carried over into my life outside the office as well and I chose to avoid contaminating others' lives with the anger and worry that followed. I'm fearful now that I will not survive this experience. Financially, I don't have money for food and need a job. I should reasonably be able to find a decent job but have panic attacks every time I begin to search for a new job out of the fear of stepping into the same situation at a new corporation. A similar experience will easily guarantee the end of my life in comparison to the risk of strugglinREPORT COMMENTS

Workplace bullying and harassment constantly occurs. I dont know how this can be stopped especially if you are a independent contractor working in a right to work state. During a meeting at my job, the project manager called me SLOW and started laughing causing others to join in. I am an independent contractor. What recourse do I have. She is still the project manager and the manager of operations had just fired me for unknown reasons. At another worksite, I was undergoing chemotherapy and I had to eventually leave because 2 coworkers constantly harassed me. I was the only african-american female in that dept. There were culture, racist joke emails, jokes about stereotypical african-american actors that starred in the movie 'Gone with the Wind' and Aunt Jamima pancake mix. What could I have done if I am working in a right to work state??REPORT COMMENTS
