The department of social services is taking me through the wash with this child support crap. Me and my ex decided we could care for our children eight the need for child support. Our son is autistic and my insurance won't cover him so he was placed on medicaid through DSS and they want me to pay out the rear end for this. What are these laws and who made them. Something has got to give. Changes are needed pronto.

I have my daughter 50% of the time, and in my divorce I negotiated that I would not pay more than $600 a month due to her technically being the bread winner in court because of a Master Degree gained during the marriage. Two years after the divorce finalized she took me back to court, for more child support because I do make more than here the judge ordered that now I pay a $1,000 a month and my divorce agreement is null. Her mother still lives at home with her parents by her choice. I currently have my daughter more than 60% of the time now. Her mother uses the money to pay her masters degree, and car payment while my daughters does not have clothes or anything. At my house I have provided everything she needs, so I am paying for that also. I have taken her back to court a few times, because all she does is cause problems, and fights in public however I am still considered the bad guy. My daughter says over, and over she wants to live with me, but since her mothers, mother is the County Prosecuting Attorney I get screwed over, and over.

17% before taxes, comes out to about 25% after, which is the true amount for 1 child. Nys has also passed a law which automatically grants spousal support to the women. 1000 a month goes to my child's mother per month. it is not just child support that is flawed, it is the whole system against good fathers, custody, visitation. It is all flawed in favor of the women who sometimes are not the better parent.

This child support calculation is unfair. Fathers should also have the right to fair living, we should not be homeless to take care of our children

I am an attorney in New York State and this system clearly must be fixed fathers can't live while mothers are getting over 1000 a month to take care of toddlers it's honestly ridiculous.

I have joint custody for two children. The majority of the time is with me. Wednesday night from 2-7pm every week, and Thursday after school thru Monday when I bring them back to school. Do to a stipulation in the system she was able to keep the kids enrolled I. A school that is not in my district and the judge granted her residential custody. So we had joint custody but she is the primary custodial parent. Their school gave me letters showing lack of involvement on the mothers part. This has been going on for 4 years so far. She enrolled them both in a school that excepted a failing child because of a no failure policy. My daughter needed to attend summer school for the eigth grade and her mother's way of helping was to keep both kids from me and not assist them. She started 9 grade at Beacon high school were she only earned one credit for the year. Letters were sent and phone calls were made to their mother who claimed to have lived in Beacon NY. I still had no idea were they were residing. Fast forward to 4 years later and lack of support from the mother of the kids I was able to attend almost every teachers conference and create verbal relationships with all their teachers to assist my daughter to achieve the impossible, to graduate in her class of 2016. As she doubled up classes and strived to meet her goal she finally was able to see the light at the end of her tunnel. I paid for two nigh classes at Dutchess community college and she passed with amazing grades. An A- and a B+. I'm extremely proud of her. On the other had my son still fails to do his homework when he is in his mother's care. My time with them is considered visitation time and I had to pay their mom child support every month. I took them to doctors appointments on my part. I believed that their mom was taking them to doctors appointments as well. She applied for state insurance and had them insured, why would I think otherwise. In 2015 I realized the children had no insurance. I would have to pay out of pocket. I brought their mom back to court to show the judge all the letters sent from the school and the health insurance neglect. The system has failed me once again. Now it's Father's Day and I'm writing this in hopes that someone has a heart and looks into my case.

Its a shme how they do. The magistrates also never go by the guidelines. They do what they want to you. And if you retain a lawyer you are still out of luck.

NYC child support laws are insane. The fathers are not considered and the mothers can ask for anything and get it. NYC is one of the most expensive cities to live in, How can you charge fathers such high amounts in child support knowing that this could put them out on the streets. The NYC court system and Child support is constantly failing fathers.

I was told that even if my son's mother beat him excessive, she would have to beat him again before they can do anything. From the mouth of the acs. For protecting my son I have had my visitation rights revoked and I don't have a criminal case against me nor order of protection. I can't even call

The child's mother was upset over our divorce where we agreed to no child support but found out no man wants her so she uses the children as cash registers.

Why so much abuse by the court system? Simple, they profit from this gross abuse. Every dollar taken fro child support is taxed. States and Federal government win either way. It benefits the government to help the woman get over since they are in the racket. The judges are not guiltless either since they are the same layers which gain from this abusive system too. Its all about the money and not the family. Every dollar taken from a parent is taxed and less money goes towards the children. This is why these woman get over. The system helps them because of money. Its a scam.

It is impossible to live on your own while paying 25% of what you make. Weekly I gross $880 after taxes and child support I bring home $330. How do I support my two kids that I have three days a week and have a place to live and a vehicle to pick them up in on $1200 a month? While the mother can work part time 20 hours a week and go on two vacations this year.

I had a woman file child support claim on me, only to find out 17 years later that the child was not mines.. so for close to two decades I was sent massive amounts of emails, mails, credit inquires, that ultimately affected my credit reports, loss of driving privilege..which means going to jail (which i was arrested because of my license being valid because of child support) not being able to get a decent apt, and living in ghettos and ugly crime riddled areas...etc.. it has been a severe drag on my life..this is the stuff that no one understands who do not live through it..and all for what? for a child that was not mine? there needs to be a fundamental change to this
