It was a dumb law when they voted it in. And didn't want to see what it will do to this country. Come on people in office think before making senseless laws, at hurt the parents paying child support and the children who received the payments​. Because you guys doing this crap. Doesn't only hurt the non-custodial parent and children involved. But it also hurts the country by putting the country more in debt. Which hurts all of us in this country. By putting strained on companies and other people who can't afford things anymore. -

Going through this issue as we speak. The difference is for me is that the enforcement agency failed on their part to collect the support and now I'm being penalized for it. I was unemployed and homeless and barely surviving. I luckily was able to speak with a representative and she worked with me to prevent my license suspension. I also applied for a modification because my wages had dropped considerably and was denied that as well. This system is not set up to benefit the parent who pays support, and they have no empathy for your situation.REPORT COMMENTS

MY GOD!!!! This is not a senseless act it was well thought out,when i got my first child support order,in which i didn't get a court date or dna test only a judgment to pay $500+ a month for one child and upon receiving it i was already $5000+ in the red,ive had garnishments,jailtime and on top of being in a city with hardly any jobs,i think this is a forum or petition but I NEED SOME HELPREPORT COMMENTS

What happened to common sense? Have we, as human beings, forgot what that means? Cause if you have a flat, for example of common sense, do you keep driving with the flat and cause damage to your vehicle or do you fix the flat tire? Where is the logic here if you suspend a driver, who uses this license to keep working or to get to work, and the one that owe child support can't work because if this illogical decision to cut your arms and legs off thinking you can still pay off child support? Those you forgot what common sense is all about should be removed from their some what logical intelligent position of office or employment and make them redo their schooling years from kindergarten all the way to college to understand what common sense means.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a mechanic by trade and must have a valid drivers license to work. I have been out of work for a few months and got a letter in the mail threatening revocation of my drivers license. Child support has suspended my ability to drive for not paying them. But there is a hitch. I've had full 100% custody of my son since he was in the 4 th grade he is now graduating high school next week and they still want me to pay even tho I've shown them court papers that I have custody. I've lost two promotions at work because of not being able to drive. Child support is a joke. Judge told me to pay 20% of my check by money order. Which I was doing in most cases I paid more to get caught up. Then I quit my job for a better job offer and find out in the hiring process that my license had been suspended and they couldn't employ me without it.REPORT COMMENTS

It's sad and unethical for anyone to have their license suspended especially if there is a history of the individual allowing the interception department to intercept the amount owed, yet once intercepted there is an extremely high risk that the individuals license is still being suspended especially after the amount due is rendered by the department.
