Fully agree and the idiot that made this law should be jailed I know our system is ****ed up and so*****a nined it's embarrassing to even claim American I had a support order and back payments to last a lifetime against my ex after learning that his contractor licence and driver's license was taken because of what he owed me. Minus all the Trumped up charges for their keep not my daughter's interest at all so making it impossible for any payment at all not being able to work his contracts that are legal agreements that would lead into even more debt and failure I said **** the Systems ******** and took cash payment of 1.00 from my ex and reported it to CSS and told them he paid me cash! They tried to inteminate and threaten my future payments and I told them they are just worried on there own cut of my daughters wellbeing and not the fact that they are charging fees that has nothing to do with my daughter and involving agency's and making it impossible for him to even try to support his daughter. Being worthless and hardship is all this law and control is. And causing more problems than before. Having this law is making the payment void and only this agency will seek it out for their last cent. Nothing to do with the wellbeing of the child or children rights causing more disfuntion and crisis to the already troubles in life and adding criminal charges for having no choice. But to break laws my now BFhas back child support. They took his licence without notice. We are homeless so no mailbox he unemployed because disability and no job he has 3 driving on suspended now and facing time. He can't even do wirk ferlow because no job no money no bus fare so where that takes him. To JAIL NOW WTF IS THAT WORTH ?? IF ANYONE SHOULD GO TO JAIL ITS THESE AGENCY'S SND LAWMAKERS EVEN THE COUNTY COLLECTION DEPT JUST WTF IS WRONG WITH THE THINKING IN THIS. BUNCH OF DUMBASS'SREPORT COMMENTS

I've dealt with this problem since I was 19. I've been forced to drive illegally to and from work for years. I've lost 2 jobs trying to rely on other people to get me to and from work. I feel like a prisoner in america. I lost my job fell behind in child support went to jail and then became homeless. Now I have 3 more kids and I am trying to get my driver licenses back to take care of my family and I can't get it back. With out paying the whole amount back. Now the stopped adding more money on but I have to be able to pay back what I owe. And can't get the job I want because I don't have my driver licenses.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband has back child support for ex wife. His sons are now grown and over 21. They took his drivers license away years ago. He has an extremely hard time getting employment because of this and to add problems no drivers license to get there and leads to driving without a license which is also a huge problem. This is most intrusive, controlling, absolutely counter-productive thing I think I have ever heard of DOR doing. How on earth can you legally get to work and back, to PAY the outrageous amounts they set to start with, when they take the means that allows you that privelege? I myself pay child support, and every single time a payment isn't received exactly in 2 weeks, they send a letter threatening me. Note, I pay my support every single biweekly check. I have for years and have not once missed a payment. But they threaten my license if in their system a payment doesn't show up in what they deem "on time". I fight with them constantly over this. This law in no way makes any sence .when you fall behind on your support then they bind you up so that you can never get cought back up.how can you get out and find work or get to and from work to even make the money to catch it up when they take your legs out from under you.its like they get you down and hold you down while screaming get up.but they have cut your legs off....untill i get my licens back ill never be able to catch up.and if i dont catch up ill never get licens back.so somthing has to give.and ive got 6 kids liveing at home with me that has to suffer becouse of this and this is just rears on a chuld that is 24 years old.and able to support him self.and his mother that gets the money never had custody and is in prizen for 3 strikes ..drug distrabution...she is drug addic.so ive been locked up lots of times for not buying her dope.and my little kids has to do with out.some one should be punished for tieing me up so that i cant suoport 6 kids.tather than punnishing mr for not supporting her drug habit and keepong me from takin care of 6REPORT COMMENTS

I was a truck driver, my C.D.L. was my lively hood. I can't tell you how many times the State of Florida has suspended it. I've had to literally break bones to make ends meet at meaniel jobs that I wouldn't have my worst enemy work. I get them threatening letters almost every week telling me their gonna suspend !!! I'm 50 yrs old , I work now in a saw mill for minimum wage. 50-60 hrs a week.. and and can't seem to bring home more then 275 a week. There's got to be a better way !!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Well it's happening, I'm expected to pay 3500 a month in child support and spouse support, I get paid twice a month, after what the state takes out I'm obligated to pay rest. Example, I took home 2100 last check 2200 one before, that's my average. Before all my deductions, taxes etc; my checks look pretty good. I work 8 days on,7 off, so I'm expected to pay the court order, pay my bills, then have to go out on the road and pay for motels, fuel, food. I do receive per diem,which the state calculated into my order, along with my overtime,such in some cases is none. I went exempt on my paychecks for the last two years, I think you can guess what happened there, I owe the IRS 2000+ now. I'm a national debt relief program, and I have my kids the whole time I'm on my off days. I'm not trying to get out of paying my support, plus 30,000 in rearages, but I am trying g to do the best I can. And now they think by taking my licence that this is going to make things better, on the contrary, I'll have to get to work, then drive from hotel to job site, I need to drive my kids to school. Nothing good will come out of taking my licence. I NEED MY LISCENCEREPORT COMMENTS

Suspended license and holding my passport is the worst thing that ever happen to me... I have more court fees in court cost and having to bond out of jail like im a criminal.. All because of a hold from child support, i wouldnt have made it to college if it wasnt for sports, could continue my career in play ball overseas to provide in make a better future for my family. But i cant, hold from child support, cant drive trucks or work for any good job that pays good with no licence. but my kids stay with me except my lil girl, still no licence, no passport.. All i want is license in passport and my kids every summer every other Christmas in on certain holidays... Love my kids in will do anything for them, but child support is putting people even in worser situations.. I have had a hard time finding employement as there are not many businesses I typically do anywhere near me - I went and took the postal exam and got a high score as my goal was to get a great job with benefits with the us post office - I ended up getting an interview and hired - only thing left was background and driving record - my background was perfect but I ended up getting declined because my liscense was suspended for about 3 weeks 7 months earlier - now keep in mind I have no driving issues or tickets in 6-7 years - nothing that would hold me up - also with the child support - I had no job and regardless I was paying support - I was just paying a little less because I had no job - and what I mean is about $500 a month for one child instead of $600 but They suspend regardless if you are paying in Florida - it has to be the whole amount - also keep in mind all this time I was waiting on the courts to lower my support a little as I wan not making the same money as I did - come to find out I could not get the job because it was suspended for that short period - I was heartbroken as other jobs were not panning out - I was also told I could not get a job with them until it's off my record for 3 years !! Unbelievable - I lost a great job for paying my support - but just not beaing able to pay the full amount even knowing I did not have a job - it just does not matter in Florida - absolutely rediculous !REPORT COMMENTS

I have made my payments every month but it seems every other month the d.c.s.s threatens to suspend my driver license. Recently I found out that in California they also suspend any fish and wildlife license!!! So now I'm not supposed to drive or be able to feed myself... the only thing I have found by suspending my license is the fact it inhibits my visitation rights as a parent. I have also been told that if I continue to miss my visitation I could be charged with contempt of court. What an unbelievable world we live in. Btw these arrears are fraudulent but proving the baby mama and I were living together is an almost impossible task giving the state doesn't want to investigate for the parent in arrears...REPORT COMMENTS
